17 Tooth Counter Shaft Sprocket
hey has anyone ordered a new front sprocket from Holeshot or anywhere else for that matter? If so does it make much difference? Would be interested to see what it's like.

Oh and also, perhaps a silly question, but does it change warranty or anything like that?

Yes, I have one that I got 2nd hand from Dhula, he didn't like it but I love it. Gearing feels much closer to being 'right' and it will now power mono in 2nd. The only downside is that the rear wheel has to be adjusted pretty much to the rear limit to compensate for the smaller sprocket. BTW I'm not sure that 17T is listed in the parts catalog for a B1250 but I bought one (a spare) listed for a SV1000 and it's the right spline etc. The Vortex part no. is 3521-17, and the Renthal part is 289-530-17.

Re: 17 Tooth Counter Shaft Sprocket
hi
I went the 17 tooth front and by adding a 45 rear on the stock chain it moves the slides back to about the middle of the range and leaves room to adjust for chain stretch
oh and with the 17/45 combo ... I like it

Re: 17 Tooth Counter Shaft Sprocket
The standard front sprocket on my Aprilia was 17 (cruised at 160 in 4th,has 6 )When it was getting a service i asked them to replace it with
one tooth less (everyone does it ) Too hard for them ,they replaced it with a 15 .It eat the chain in no time and i only found out about it
when i put on a new 16. I'd rather go up on the rear esp, seeing there is so much space on the Bandit .No,i havent measured anything i
thought the Bandit gearing for me was spot on.

I can't complain about the stock gearing. Any shorter would make 1st useless. I "work" in 3rd & 4th and there is plenty of poke and range there. 4th is good for $1.80 +
Just my opinion

Running 18/45 at the moment and have a 46 to go on when I put the new chain on, pretty sure it will go on fine.

42/18 = 2.33, so in the case of the B1250 1 tooth on the front = 2.33 on the back.

17 toother here... it pulls like a freight train out of the turns instead of hunting. Much nicer. As stated the wheel moves back quite a way so power wheelies become a tad harder due to length of bike

Re: 17 Tooth Counter Shaft Sprocket
i've just received a full set from Sprocket Center - under $300 delivered for 18/43 & 530 chain.
Re: 17 Tooth Counter Shaft Sprocket
There was a graph in "Ride " mag. years ago showing one less tooth on the front sprocket give you better accelleration ,as expected ,but lost
nothing up high . I did the mod (had 1200 ) and loved it .It did make the motor feel a bit more "buisy" but not bad. The 1250 i have now i use more for touring so i havnt bothered. The 1200 was the only bike i ever had on a track day you could get the speedo needle PAST the last numbers.
