WTB - Ventura kit GSF1200
G'day team,
Having a heap of trouble finding the kit to fit my bike and really looking for assistance from the group - if anyone could tell me where to get the L brackets it would be greatly appreciated!!! (I don't want the rails that go all the way down to the passenger foot peg bracket)

ps: why couldn't I just post a picture of it in here?? told me the message was too long

Hi Simon-t
I recently purchased a Ventura kit for my gsf1250.
Looked up the Australian distributor and part number and ordered through my local bike shop.
The Australian Distributor is Kenma Australia
Sorry as i am a new member i can not post a external link.
Cheers Clint

I believe the picture in the kit is a generic one and doesn't include the long brackets seen (i've never seen a bandit with long brackets on it.)
would be best to send them an email to check.

Thought the L brackets replaced the grab rails and then rack mounts to the L brackets

The picture is just a generic pic.
Mine i took the handrail off and added the little brackets and the rack has little arms for adjustment.
Cheers Clint

Re: WTB - Ventura kit GSF1200
Howdy Simon,
Firstly, I had an 06 1200 followed by an 09 1250 Bandit
For both bikes they use the same Ventura mounting kit which I regard as grossly inadequate in strength.
Mounting the kit using the 4 grab rail screws is probably OK to carry a couple of Kgs of luggage but beyond that, I consider you need the extra strength of additional steel down to the pillion peg brackets.
I made my own mounting kit using 25mm x 5mm flat steel which can be bent in a "large" bench vyce from a single piece of steel.
The horizontal bars were made from the same material and although mine was welded, it could be done with steel fasteners
Total cost around $30.00 plus paint
Go to the trouble of finding a steel fabricator who should be able to weld the entire project for you (including the bars down to the pillion peg brackets) probably for less than the ventura kit. In hindsight I would have incorporated some additional steel for saddlebag mounting.
I reckon someone on this forum had got some photos they would share with you. There are also lots of YouTube examples you could share with your steel fabricator
Secondly, consider the RJays bag range.
I purchased an Rjays Explorer adjustable model being 47litres and (wait for it!!) 82 litres expanded. They also make a smaller version.
If you are travelling solo you might also consider resting the bag on the pillion seat and using it as a back rest.
