Pick any 5 bikes and only 5 past or present that you could imagine in your garage.

Bandit 1250S (the do anything bike)
RF900R (most under rated bike I have ever owned)
Single Cam Honda 750/4 (a classic without the oil leaks)
Buell XB12SS (for the uniqueness value)
Kawasaki ZX14 (last because I need my license!)

There are about 10 that could slot in at number 6

What's yours?

Easy,
Roadbike ....1250 Bandit
Sportbike .....CBR1000RR, or the new BMW SS1000RR, or maybe even a Ducati 1198S (they are reliable in this fantasy world aren't they?)
All roads bike ....Yamaha XTZ1200 Super Tenere
Give it heaps trackbike ....CCM C26 Motard (just have to get it fixed up)
Dirtbike ....KTM300EXC

So really all I need is the OK to get a sportbike and a Super Tenere, the common thread is they are all more capable than I, but god its fun trying

Something for all occasions: Bandit 1250s
Something for off roading adventure: Vstrom 650 (haven't ridden any one of this type of bike so just guessing)
Something nostalgic: The new Kwaka W800
Something to commute on: Honda CB400 four
Something very touring oriented: GTR1400 or BMW1200 or whatever has the best seat!

My five would be

Ducati 916
2002 Dyna Glide Sport (with stage 3 screaming eagle kit, fornales suspension and brembo brakes - I nealy bought this instead of the bandit.)
BMW R1200RT
Triumph Tiger
BSA Gold Star

No I wouldn't have a bandit because with these 5 bikes it becomes redundant.

1. KTM SuperDuke 990 - should shave some time off the commute to work and carve up the sportsbike wannabe's...

Your 5 Bike Garage Ktm_su10

2. Husqvarna SM510R - to really carve up the sportsbike wannabe's... until it runs out of fuel anyway.

Your 5 Bike Garage Husqva10

3. Yamaha Tenera 660 - to release my inner Dakar rider and get lost somewhere.

Your 5 Bike Garage Yamaha10

4. Triumph Thruxton SE - to show off at PITS.

Your 5 Bike Garage Triump10

5. Suzuki GSV-R - just to see everyone's face at an Eastern Creek trackday. And also because I'd probably be faster than Capirossi was this year in MotoGP...

Your 5 Bike Garage Suzuki11

Not the most sensible list but surely a fun one Smile

Yep, I know. It was a brilliant bike, and my wife worked for the HD dealer at the time, but the $35,000+ price tag was a lot more than I was/am prepared to pay for a bike.

Had a rethink of this old thread...

1. GSX650F - commuter - all weather bike - solo seat -
2. GSX1250FA - Sunny day only bike - solo seat
3. this ones currently a toss up between 1250S with ABS or 1250 naked with ABS - suspension setup for mainly two up riding - the Wife wants me to get a cruiser like a Boulevard C109 but my hearts just not in that type of bike.
4. 2003 Bandit 1200S - complete ground up restoration project
5. my Dad's 1977 BMW R80 (was 100% ground up restored about 7 or 8 years ago - now sits under a bike cover in a shed - unregistered and slowly deteriorating Evil or Very Mad )

My bids are the GSX1250FA, hence why I have one…
Norton 850 commando
H2 750 (Nothing like knowing you have a fight on your hands)
The new BMW 1600 touring scoot
Moto Guzzi V7
I’d also like to point out that a 5 bike garage is not realistic for those with the passion, has to be at least 15 with the understanding from their home CEO, minister of finance and all things not fun…

RC 30 or RC45 for track day fun

CR 500 2 stroke moto x to scare myself silly off road

Ducati 996 sps for clearing the head on sunday morning thrashes

Britten V1000 to ride illegally on the road and look at over a beer or 6
