From $5 a LINE . iM NOT THAT STUPID!!
I've seen the results of low pressure hydraulic lines/coolers etc from China.
I can recall hearing when Holden started getting their trans coolers made in China instead of by local Adelaide manufacturer Teclamit (Tec), it was claimed Tec made more money refurbishing the Chinese imports than they would have if they had kept the contract.
Re: Chinese Braided lines
I had one made in Hallam recently, cost me $45 and I can "live" with that., and it looks just like the factory one
Folk who are making legit lines have their id number in the dies that crimp the the hose ends on, so should there be a failure an investigation would lead back to them.

If someone did that and there was an incident, what a can of worms that'd be

Need to be DOT, EU or ADR approved to get road worthy.gus wrote:There will be plenty who might be tempted to fit and sell bike .
We fitted Venhill lines to Kim's R1200c, clearly marked as DOT approved
I wouldn't touch chinese ones

The markings also need to be genuine on a product that has been tested and proven it meets either of those standardsmadmax wrote:Need to be DOT, EU or ADR approved to get road worthy.gus wrote:There will be plenty who might be tempted to fit and sell bike .

There are plenty of aftermarket lights with either E or DOT markings, you can print anything you like on a product in China, doesn't mean it's legitimate.

In Tas you don't need a rwc to sell a registered bike so the cheap lines would go un-noticed .
