My New Bike
Hi all,
Just bought a new (to me) 2011 FA Monday.
So far loving it, mostly commuting, which it does quite well, not much wider than my GS500.
Did a quick lap of the hills yesterday, very happy, still a bit cautious though, probably a lot faster on my GS.
I'm over 50, so not much bravery to be had!
Site looks good from what I have seen

Welcome to the forum Glenn - I'm sure you'll find a big difference between the GS500 and the GSX. Lots of fun to come!

Welcome to the forum Glen ............you can be sure that the FA will certainly have a lot more torque than the GS

Welcome to the Forum glennmcc!
Don't have many hills to ride here in Townsville, well none that I've found to be worth mentioning leastways.

Welcome to the forum Glenn
I too moved from a GS500F to the GSX1250. At first, just like you I was cautious in the twisties. The extra weight of the bandit was not what I was use too.
You soon get use to it, and soon you'll be scrapping the pegs in the twisties like the rest of us.
I found with the 500 I was constantly dropping down a cog or two to climb some of the Victorian hills. You wont need to with the Bandit, it'll do it without any effort.
Enjoy your new ride

Outside the Colnel Light Hotel, Light Square
Your bike has the same "Fat Arse" as mine when it's fully loaded
That pic is taken about 5km from home for me

Re: My New Bike
I'm doing a shout out to the newer SA members in case they missed this on the event thread
https://nswbandits.forumotion.net/t6762-south-aussie-catch-up
We've got 2 from Adelaide confirmed
One making the trek from Whyalla
2 riding all the way from Melbourne
+ Cal in Strath who is without a ride atm
It'd be nice to meet a couple more locals for the ride and/or the overnight stay
cheers
