New Addition To Shed.
Howdy, Braz from Melbourne. I have been picking up heaps of great tips here since joining forum. Thanks. Just throught i might share pic of new bike.
My 2009 GSF has done 95000 klm's and i have been stalking the new bike shops. All the bikes I looked at were too dear $$$$. VFR 1200 X. Africa Twin. BMW.
I only paid $3000.00 for the 09. Some of the new bikes nearly 10 times as much. I just cant see how i would have 10 times the enjoyment and fun i have had over
the past couple of years. I realize there is still alot of life left in the old girl yet. I am going to keep her for short trips around town, to work etc.
But i also spotted a 2016 GSF with only 3500 klm's on the clock. Like new. $10,000. As they are not making any more Bandits i bit the bullet.
Only just run in really. I am going to set it up for touring.
Regards Braz.

Nice bikes, but you just blew it with Gus, mentioning his name and Givi in the same posting, ouch
Re: New Addition To Shed.
Nicely priced scooters
There's some nice riding down your way, I enjoy the ride from up my way, down to Flinders(for breakfast), Sorrento and catching the ferry over to Queenscliff and the ride back home.

My 1st thought too
I'm still wondering what sort of welcome he'll give us turning up onto his adopted island fitted out with all our garden stuff
Re: New Addition To Shed.
BTW, welcome to the forum, plenty of Melbourne members on here for you to catch up with, might find yoyrwy the only one left still on a Bandit though
new bandit
I was never a fan of hard luggage. Used to just strap everything on. Sorry Gus didnt know you were not a fan of G---.
I am just waiting on the panniers. Got the lot online from Motorama Italy.
Thanks for the welcome Chook.
I enjoy those twisties just after Flinders Rodent. They seem to ride better heading to north into Flinders.
The older bandit has been running rough all week. Will idle but coughing and spluttering. No power . So have the tank off.
Thanks for that sticky Gus.

Welcome to the Forum Braza
Got a couple of Metric Metal highway pegs sitting on my work bench. A little worn on the bottom. Make me an offer if you like. I'm also in Melbourne.
I'll add photos later

Good pick-up Braza. You'll probably discover the 1250S headlight is complete rubbish, even with the Narva bulbs.

You are right Ewok. The light is brighter but is very spread. Low beam does not give me any further distance. High beam a little more reach down the road. Not much though. Very annoying. Amount of light is ok just not directed in the place i need it. On the black stuff.
I will do a forum search. I remember reading threads on this.

Re: New Addition To Shed.
Try rewiring the headlights with heavier gauge wires and relays. The original loom is way too thin, plus the circuit has the bulb current passing through the handlebar switches, this causes loss of voltage and hence lower light intensity.
Re: New Addition To Shed.
Hey Braza, my fuel pump went dud at 70,000k on my '08. I was fortunate to score a near new '16 tank with pump for a good price, so swapped pump over. Still to take pressure regulator off old pump and clean the opaque screen. Hope you fix your one ok. Good on ya for getting a newer bandit. There's still some low k older ones out there and the prices are reasonable compared to other brands. Have fun. Mark.

thats a very tidy looking bike there Mark. Mine is still coughing and spluttering. I think it may be electrical. Like a short somewhere. Not sure yet. Going to have to
start at the beginner and use process of elimination. I noticed in manual there was a caution not to remove pressure regulator from housing. Not sure if that would be an issue.
Hope to hear back from Madmax if he still has those Metric metal Fwd pegs.

Sorry mate I've been away in Perth for a week.
First pic is the main components
Second is the damage. Be aware that your lean angle will be reduced
matching Rear pegs
Picture of them first installed
The components are Aluminium. I was intending to get someone to overlay some weld over the ground off areas and then file it back into shape.
But I have changed the bike so I wont be doing it now.
As far as I can tell all the other bits are there (ball bearings, pins, circlips etc)
Bear in mind these cost me over $200 to land here from the states, Make me an offer via PM, inspection is welcome
Pick up in Carrum Downs

thx MM. Went for quick spin. Feel like " easy rider ". I used lowest holes. Long legs. But if they scrape will move them up.

Looks the goods.
I don't reckon you'd feel the difference between the top hole and the lower one.
