Hand held lazor temp gun
How good is this thing !!!
Been wanting one since the dawn of time, so decided to get one. Just a cheapy from Super Cheap, but effective all the same.
Was going to sync my carbs, but before I did, I checked the temp at the headers, and No: 4 was allot hotter.
Put gauges on to sync, low and behold, No: 4 was out by allot.
Once synced, I then used the lazor to set mixture screws.
3 were close to the same temp, and one of them was hotter. Richened the hot one a little, and now all the same temp.
Bike runs extremely smooth now, better that it's ever been.
Money well spent.

How did you know to richen the mixture to decrease the temp? I would have backed it off.
Might borrow works so I can at least check my temperatures.
* note to self - run the bike before testing the temperatures

A lean A/F ratio will run hotter than a richer setting.
Fairly well rule of thumb.
Obviously the settings have to be close, as per factory settings.
Even if you have a jet kit, basic principles apply to set up, then can fine tune by plug colour and temperature.
EG: flatspots or stumbles-lean or rich. (Jetting changes, needle height, mixture screw)
Temp guns can also isolate which cylinder isn't working properly, in the case of a problem.

They are a great tool for many things, we use them at work to check brake temperatures on trucks, quick and easy way to see if one isn't working properly or at all

Visit my favourite online store
www.banggood.com
Their prices are "super cheap" not Supercheap.
With free shipping and even with the new GST you are still well ahead

I had a brief look through the site., and.....it makes you wonder how much it actually costs to make something.
Some things on there are so cheap, you either think there's crap for components, or someone's stealing components, and made in sweat shops.
Just an observation, nothing more.
I'll have a good look through the site though.

I've bought a few things off of Banggood since I first saw BanditDave mention it on here, very cheap and all have done what they were meant to.
I've also started using Tophatter a bit to

That’s going to be a handy tool. I’ve seen them at Super Cheap and briefly wondered if I should.
Re: Hand held lazor temp gun
I bought one from a mate that accidentally bought 1 carton rather than one item . Cost was $10, comes in handy occasionally
