Flip it for cameras
I have heard that if you stick a clear cover over the plate ( to protect it of course!) duct tape at the top and bottom.
Now if the bottom was to get some grit on it, it wont stick and floats as the bike travels along and forms a line though the number in any photos that may be taken!
Of course I've not tried this, far to respectable!

while I think the flipper is cool. it will get you well and truly pineappled if you get caught with one

I wouldn't put it past them to keep all the of "flipped" images on file, so that the one day you ride through a toll/red light/safety/speed camera and forget to "flip" they can cross reference your image with what they've already got in the archives, and hence forth send you off for 6 months to share a 6' x 4' room with a large hairy black man named Nigel...
