Bit sad to see the TRX go Paul - I still think they will become a future classic. Loved the Fireblade (205kg wet, 174HP) but would have lost my license if I'd kept it (no self-control with that at my fingertips). XVS1100 was a lifestyle bike for me and the missus but has been replaced with a lifestyle convertible car (paid for by selling the bikes). The XS850 was a shed project and I made $3k on it so I can't complain. Overall, I'm square moneywise (after buying the convertible). And of course, the old Bandit lives on with 88,858kms on it and still able to help the old Massey-Ferguson pull stumps out around the farm.

Bev is a very wise woman.
There must have been a tinge of sadness at times but you've still got old faithful, and you both have your lifestyle car, enjoy but dont get a sunburnt head
Re: Emptying the Shed
You've done well Dave. I would have loved the TRX but have other priorities at the moment.
Maybe when I'm handsome and retired like yourself mate.................

Hi Cam. It's quite a fun bike to ride - you always seem to feel like you're some sort of LA cop (maybe I just watched the wrong TV shows in the 80s). They are not fuel injected and the 1100 did feel a bit underpowered, on steeper uphills. The rear shock is a bit soft for Aussie conditions and heavier pillions and I replaced mine with a Wilbers. Ground clearance is surprisingly good and I only scraped on tight corners (ie typically marked at 25kmph). The deeper sidewall tyres mean softer handling but you get used to it pretty quickly. With my long arms, I'd have replaced the bars sooner or later with something lower and straighter, ie Suzuki Boulevarde style.

Well that is definitely downsizing Gus - maybe not the shed, but the house. All the very best with the venture.

Needs windows and a verandah Gus. Haven't you been watching those Little House shows. Will the shed be on a trailer?

Howdy Gus,
If you are looking to expand your living space I suggest you cruise around the retirement villages south of Hobart.
You will find a number of "inmates" have a caravan parked out the back that has not seen any use for maybe several years.
These people are very negotiable so if they suggest their 25foot van is worth $40,000 offer them $20,000 cash and leave your phone number.
Most pensioners do not want to see great sums of money appear in their bank accounts but cash is a different matter.
Chances are you will score a 25+ foot caravan with annex plus more outdoor furniture than you imagined.
Who knows, you may finish up a second hand caravan dealer

There is definitely some truth to this - my cousin bought a nice little van for $8k cash - the guy wanted $17k.
