Honestly, if I had more room and no mortgage, I'd be tempted to make it a set of 3

If you haven't had a test ride on a 650 V Strom I would suggest it before buying the 1000.

Up here in Hervey Bay there are about 6 of each and most of the 1000 owners admit the 650 would have been a better purchase.

$10K ride away as compared to $16K

Need a bike for 90% 2up touring. My long suffering fiance loves motorcycles but can only tolerate 1hr on the bike due to leg to seat dimentions. She is near 6ft tall. Tried everything to make her more comfortable but its still a compromise. Tried a dl650 was fine until you add another 70kg and it felt bothered by it. The 1k felt awesome. Power on tap. No abs though. We are not chasing trails really. Mainly highway alpine regions etc. I would have gone for a gs1200r but the colour of my credit card was wrong.

Also, never again will I buy something to just stick in my shed to look at. If I can't ride it or don't ride it, what's the point of keeping it?
