Helmet head
They say your either a Aria head shape or a Shoei head shape . In my case its Arai . Ive tried may different makes but
nothing comes close to a perfect Arai fit .
Has anyone with a Arai head , found another make that is similar . I have yet to try on a Bell helmet .

Re: Helmet head
I'm half way between an L and an XL in the Shoei, haven't tried Arai but am XL in a Bell RS-1 and custom 500 open face, no help but just tryin to ad some activity around here. Also L in a shark Vision R and L in Kabuto Aeroblade III.
Seeing as I can't fit into a Shoei maybe I'm an Arai head? Must try one on one day, still looking for a hat that's actually quiet, probably doesn't exist though.

Re: Helmet head
The XL Shoei fits me really well, my last 3 helmets have all been Shoei.
I've tried Arai helmets on as well the last 2 times and they feel great except the chin piece is way too close to my face and I feel claustrophobic when thee visor is closed

Re: Helmet head
Although I like the fit of my Shoei I still think I'm better suited to HJC.
My nose touches the visor in Sharks and many others aren't deep enough and leave my chinny chin chin exposed.

Re: Helmet head
I've had Arai and Shoei and feel that a helmet should be a firm fit from new and forms to your head over a short period.
Currently, I have an Aldi shaped head and two years in am still as happy as can be.

Re: Helmet head
I was the same for most of my riding life Gus. Nothing but Arai. Then one day in a store I thought I would try on the new Shoei NXR. I couldn't believe how good it felt. Plus it was supposed to be very quiet. I got it for a good price so I switched brands. For a while. Then one day I spied a nice Arai Corsair. ( I had had a Corsair before ) Bought that . When I tried it I can honestly say that for me, on my bike, it is quieter than the Shoei. And just as comfortable. Mind you. I already knew how comfortable Arais are. Also did a small stint with a Shark. But was never really 100% happy with it. Horses for courses.
