Full Akrapovic Exhaust

Finally found a listing for the full Akrapovic system in the US

A full arrow system from the local importer would be much cheaper and I doubt much different. Headers cost me $826 to my door surely the end can won't cost $1000

Just a heads up that these systems are not homologated for road use.

Get caught with one fitted and (from what I understand) you are looking at a $1500 + fine in NSW. $10,000 in Victoria from what I've heard (for those who make the annual trek to Phillip Island each year).

It's got nothing to do with noise, it's entirely to do with the fact that you are removing emissions equipment (i.e. the catalyser).

Not worth it IMO - just go the slip on.

We've all got modified bikes, so if you wanted to tow the line to the letter of the law you'd leave everything in stock trim. Just got to take it on the chin if you get caught, I've still got all my original gear to go back on if I ever need it. Let's hope not it weighs a tonne (the full OEM exhaust that is).

There are plenty of ways to modify your vehicle and yet remain within the "letter of the law". In fact from a NSW perspective the RTA has released a number of publications on how to do exactly just that! Even if you want to go outside of the law, there are far smarter ways of doing it than shoving on a highly visible set of race headers that even the dullest of plods is going to know ain't legal.

Given the substantial fines for removing emissions equipment, I personally I don't think it's worth chasing the extra 9.1 horses. Each to their own though I guess.
