New exhaust
Well, this is what I get for being a) cheap, and b) not listening...
The Dan Moto JISU lasted all of a fortnight before cracking some weld spots. Even tho it was only a couple of weeks old, they wanted me to send it back for repair (not even replacement). Screw that (and I'm sure that how they make their money by people not bother to return broken stuff).
So today my new Delkevic showed up.
Its a bit shorter than I pictured in my head and quite a lot louder. But I do like it and have already ordered the add-in baffle.

Re: New exhaust
How strange. Today I just traded my identical '06 1200 in on a '09 1250. And the first thing that I will be ordering for it will be a carbon Delkevic. Probably a longer one though.

If I had the dollars for one of the 4-into-2 collectors, I reckon these pipes would look great with one out each side. *EDIT* I'm sure I saw a 4 into 2 collector somwhere, damned if I can find it now....

Shame, cause I actually quite liked the exhaust.

Is it possible to put a clip on Youtube, so we can hear it?

Re: New exhaust
I fitted the 450mm Delkevic the same day the bike arrived. Mine arrived already fitted with the baffle?? And it was quickly removed after the first test firing of the motor!!

Hi Steve. Could you please post up a couple more shots of your Delkevic. Iam considerinf buying the same one. And does the connecting pipe have a stop bracket for the centre stand ? Cheers.

Re: New exhaust
Assuming they use the same/similar link pipe - yes, mine certainly had the centre stand stopper.

Re: New exhaust
I'm still not sure if I will go with the 450mm or the 350mm CF Delkevic. The shorter is prbably a little louder. Which do you guys think ?

Re: New exhaust
Because the Bandit has (what looks like) some baffling back in the collector box; its actually not that loud.
Cruising along at a constant speed; between headphones and wind noise; I can barely hear it. But give it a fist full and it wakes up quite nicely.

Re: New exhaust
Hammy go 450mm. If you want it shorter it's only an angle grinder away from being 350mm

Re: New exhaust
Hammy, I don't have any photos at the moment. Yep it came with the Centre Stand Stop Bracket - just swapped the rubber stopper to the new one.
It was really simple to install too and came with all of the parts & clamps needed to fit it.
I am happy with the sound - but I didn't think it is that much louder than standard. I would say the 350mm one would also do. The smaller one that Lurch has would probably be pretty loud
Let me know if you want more photos and I will get them tomorrow.
Cheers

Re: New exhaust
Took some photos with the flash that don't seem to bad. Let us know if you need anything more.
The last 3 are the Baffle that came with it. Not much to it really. A bit of hollow tube, stopper on the inside end and a screw to hold it in place at the end.

Re: New exhaust
The Delkevic muffler looks good on the bike and i have noticed a few blokes on this forum have used or spoken about these mufflers. It is not a brand I am familiar with, where do they come from?

Good old U S of A. But probably made in China. I rang and spoke to them and they told me they would enquire as to when the Headers for the 1250 will be available. They have sets for the 1200s already.

Re: New exhaust
Which clamps? The pipe clamps? Theyre as tight as I can possibly get them.

Re: New exhaust
I think he is talking about those clamps on my bike, the ones that were really easy to do up - because I had the bolts facing out towards me.
I will pop downstairs in a minute and attend to those!
