As most of you on here might know, my passion in bikes is centered round travelling with Axel in the sidecar.  I found this YouTube clip at one of the sidecar forums and eventually bought a Blu-Ray copy of it (so that there would be no issues with the US NTSC and our PAL formats).  It was put together by a young couple Eric Ristau and Geneva Liimatta in the US with the aid of seed funding from mum & dad investors and tells carries the story about sidecars, their riders and furry friends.

Eric and Geneva are now trying to put together a second movie after the positive responses of the original.  They are using the Kick-starter method to again fund it, and will also be using clips not used in the first as well as some film sent in from others around the world.

I as well as 263 others have thrown a couple of dollars towards this second movie but they are still a little short in reaching their goal.  If you are interested in helping them here is the link to their Kick Starter Site, I"m sure every little bit helps.  As an incentive, anyone who stops of at my place if they're traveling down here, can have a free pat of Leroy (Axels bigger stable mate), or at least get a picture from the other side of the glass door   Smile

We lost Leroy yesterday, we had taken him to the vets as he had not eaten for 2 days and was very weak.  He passed away peacefully in his sleep as they were prepping him for an operation.  He was literally larger than life, arguably the largest dog in Australia when he was 130kg, but a big sook when you got to know him, we'll miss him terribly.

So sorry for your loss Barry, I still get shivers up my spine when I look back at the day on PI that you broke the news that Axle had passed away, it was less than 12 months before that that I, Dancing Pillion Madmax and Spanner (+Mrss Spanner) had the pleasure of meeting him in Hay enroute to Parkes

I never got to meet Leroy but this is my first memory of the beautiful soul that was Axle (with Barry and Dancing Pillion)

Really sad news Barry. We have had to bury two of our fur family so I can understand your pain mate. Chin up, you gave them the most awesome life and I am sure they are happy for it if they could tell you. We will have a drink to commiserate.

+1 Barry, really sorry to hear about your loss.

Yesterday was the first anniversary of the death of my black cocker (15 years old), so I feel your pain.

Just read this, so I`m also sorry to hear Barry.

I haven`t personally owned a pet for over 25yrs.
When the last one died, I hit the road with work, and don`t have the time or capable responsibility to own a pet, due to work.
They become a part of you, and part of you dies with them.

I do however, have a bond with my brothers dogs, and any time one of them meets it`s maker, I feel his loss, as they feel like mine also. Although the buggers can get up to mischief , and you want to throttle them sometimes, you can`t help but love the individual characters they all carry.

When I do eventually get my next dogs, they will be working dogs, and I won`t have too much a loving bond with them, as they won`t with me. They will know who feeds them, and who not to bite, and that's the way I want it for now, until the right time for man`s best friend comes along.
