Not Another Bloody Kiwi
Hi there
I'm currently haunting the interweb searching for a Bandit to buy and have made an offer on a 2007 1250.
Hi km.s but very well serviced and generally cared for.
I can't believe the bang for the buck so what have I missed?

Welcome to the forum, you've probably realised by now we're not really a fussy bunch and will still welcome you no matter which side of the Tasman you reside

Re: Not Another Bloody Kiwi
Welcome MIXONE. As you probably know, the 1250cc Bandit is a big slow-revving motor that produces high torque at only 3750rpm. It doesn't need to be revved and relies on its torque rather than its power. So, in theory, high kms should not be a problem if there is a service history to support it, and the price is down not up. It is possible that a 1250 Bandit could reach 90,000kms and have never been revved to anything like redline. And the 6-speed gearbox feels like it was designed for a truck.
It might be due for a valve shim job, if that hasn't already been done. That's a bit fiddly so read $$. Other areas might have kms related wear and tear, ie steering head bearing, swingarm bearing, etc.
But if the price is right, you might still go for it.
PS: my 2010 Bandit 1250s has 67,000 kms on it and hasn't yet had the valves reshimmed, steering head or swing-arm bearings changed.

G'day MIXONE welcome along. Tell us, are you from the main island or the one off the south coast? We can't all be over here on west island
