Throttle Balancer, Where to buy
Could anyone tell me where to find a carby/ Throttle balancer and if so how much would I expect to pay for said item?

Re: Throttle Balancer, Where to buy
I bought a motion pro mercury one from Peter Stevens years ago ( can't remember the price ) , but Ebay should have some ( or your local dealer may help out )..............they use a safer liquid in them these days .
I personally found the gauge type not as easy to use as the liquid in the tubes type.

Details are here.
But please note advice from dhula about not attempting this (in its full incarnation) unless you are confident of your mechanical skills. Bhoffo will attest to this!

Do you have the 1200 or the 1250 ...Dhula's thread relates to the 1250 / the 1200 carby model as I took it you meant you have are quite easy to do( and you do use the centre screw .
( I just looked back to your intro post & it seems you have the 1250 ....I suggest you read Dhula's instructions & the link Ewok gave you)

Re: Throttle Balancer, Where to buy
Mine is a 1250 2010 model. I am a fitter by trade and have done repair work on all of my bikes except carby work. Dhula's post was clear and concise andwith the right tools in my kit I think I could manage it. I had the throttle bodies and injectors out a while ago when I picked up some dirty fuel in Dunedoo and pulled the whole thing apart to clean and it all went back together ok then. T/B balance looks easier than that job plus secondaries will be coming out soon as well. Thanks for your concern, see you in Parkes maybe.

I have a Morgan Carbtune, it works fine. (well, it works fine on my Bandit but it's not so good on my 690 Duke)
Its a column jobbie, like the Motionpro.
Analogue guage sets are cheaper but fiddlier.
You will need to make up props to lift the tank to run the bike with the electrics and fuel line in place.
If the tank is tilted forward by these, you will have to have the tank pretty full or the fuel won't pick up.

tag's advice is good - but better have some mower fuel handy if the tank is anything like half-full (school of hard knocks lessons learnt).
Thanks again tag!
