STOLEN Bandit
I Had my Black GSF1250 Bandit S '08 model STOLEN from Harris St Goolwa a few days ago.
Reg YZW 583 .
1: It has a large (knee shaped!) dent in the right side (as you sit) of the petrol tank.
2: It has an IXIL aftermarket can
3: The fairing has been removed.
4: The headlight and indicators have been set on to the remaining fairing bracket and windscreen Street-fighter style
5. It had a sticker of a Hooded Plover on the engine case - it may be removed but remnants could be still there.
6: It had a non original GSX1000 mono shock (yellow spring) but I had not yet had the original dog bones replaced - not affixed properly.
7: It had a bald rear and a balding front Michelin Pilot Road 3 tyres ..
8: It had a black mesh aftermarket radiator protector screen
9: It had black engine bars.
10: One left hand original mirror and one round bar end mirror on the right.

If anyone gets a whiff of its whereabouts or absolutely any info that might be helpful in any way I would be eternally grateful if you could PM me here.... Thanks - Diablo...
P.S I dont know how to load a photo here, can anyone fill me in please?

Re: STOLEN Bandit
Almost all cop cars have number plate recognition cameras these days, so chances are pretty good if it is on the road with your plates, or even stolen or out of rego plates it will alert the police. Hope you get her back soon, sounds like she has been through some tough love.

Re: STOLEN Bandit
I'm in Adelaide and tend to notice any Bandits that come my way, I'll keep a extra eye out for anything looking like a street fighter.
Thanks
Thanks for responding to my sad news Chook, Barry, 2Wheels and Suzy.. It helps when something like this happens that we get support from other like minded folks.. This has been a bit of a blow for me.. Yes Barry, as you have noticed, Beelzebub AKA Nazgul had been through some tough love.. We ventured into an embankment on a tricky section of McHarg Creek Rd near Ashbourne SA. last year and we both came out a bit worse for wear. Hence the mods.. and my dodgy knee!
I couldnt find your PM 2Wheels? It doesnt appear to be in my message box.
The theft seems somewhat opportunistic. We were having a Garage sale and a flash storm blew threw so we began packing early. A faded old silver commodore pulled up and bought a couple of cheap trinkets then drove off. 5 mins later they drove back down our cul de sac slowly before taking off again. We needed to get to Mac Vale to feed a friends dog and house sit. Several neighbours saw a car matching the description drive in to our carpark and hang around suspiciously about 30 mins after we left. Already news through the grapevine is that a young local purveyor of illegal comestibles disposed of a "large black motorcycle" swapping for a car. Police have his details and the local Goolwa Sergeant seems to know of the silver car possibly. My theory to date suggests that two young local lads took it upon themselves to knock of my bike and trade it for substances with their local trader. The trader arranged a swap and the bike is in someones shed either gettting patched up or getting stripped. I left notices on a couple of car and motorcycle swap sell and trade sites and Riders groups like Sabers in SA and of course here.

STOLEN Bandit Pics.
Thanks 2Wheels for posting the pics of my stolen bike.
The bottom picture with the luggage is the current configuration.. It shows the modified headlight and indicators setup.
The fairing has been removed and the headlight, blinkers and screen have been arranged using the existing fairing brackets..
The look from the front resembles the Ducati Monster or MV Augusta Brutale....
The top one is a pic taken on the Gorge Road and shows the bike pre-modifications. It is a better photo and shows clearly the IXIL can, the engine bars, sheepskin seat cover..
Thanks again everyone for your support.

No news on Stolen Bandit yet
No news so far Suzy... An experienced mature older cop has been investigating but he has been frustrated by incompetence of others who didnt pass on info/details about suspects to him that I phoned in. I have been trying to stay positive hoping they havent taken it interstate. I tell myself that maybe some bugger is repairing the dent in the tank and respraying it, fitting some nice new rubber, sorting out the rear shock and generally tidying it up a bit so when they catch them I will have my bike back and sorted just in time for riding season! :-)

Re: STOLEN Bandit
I`ve just read this.
Sorry to hear of this mate.
I didn`t think a Bandit would be on the hit list of thieves, unless they were going to part it out or something
You haven`t got the engine No: by any chance, and if they're stupid enough to try and sell it through the usual means of public sale?
