Hi Everyone,
Got my new GSX1250FA a few weeks ago - very happy, what a great bike!
I was very surprised by the test ride - I thought I'd be a bit 'underwhelmed' having come from a Z1000SX but no, it was more comfortable, more torquey and easier to ride. Plus the fact it has mirrors that work (compared to the SX) gear indicator and centre stand (both absent from the SX) - and the price! Suzuki GB were running the £1000 off promo so I got it for £7k with free first service. Bargain.
The only bummer was that I picked up a nail in the rear tyre on way home from the dealer so a new rear needed with only 80 miles on the clock! I took the opportunity to change to PR3s front and rear as I had them on the SX and really liked them. Running-in was fun and not a chore as it has been in the past, given that it's so grunty below 4.5k.
I've added a Puig hugger, LSL crash pads and heated grips (the Symtec ones that retain the original grips and have a small switch rather than the big control units you get with Oxford/R&G). I'm going to add an MRA Vario and Baglux tank cover in the coming weeks.
Cheers,
Mort

Welcome aboard Mort. Obviously the coming winter didn't put you of the purchase - that probably was a contributing factor to the promo? What part of the UK are you from?

Re: New member in Old South Wales
Thanks guys.
Ewok, I'm in a village near Llandovery, which is about 30 miles north of Swansea. I managed to get the bike run in and the first service done just before the weather 'turned' - it's been raining now for a few weeks so I'm unlikely to get many more miles in until next spring. As well as being the 'end of the season', I think the promo might also have something to do with the release of the GSX-S1000F ?
Steve, yes, I've ordered an R&G rad guard as well, forgot to mention!

Hi Mort and welcome to the Forum.
I also have the Symtec heat demon switch but with Oxford grips. I did a review on here somewhere.

Welcome Mort,
I have the LSL sliders also, have not tested them but impressed by how they blend with the lines of the bike. Hugger looks good, I have a Pyramid plastics one on order.

Welcome aboard,
You wont regret the PR3 on the big lump. Just make sure you run 38f 42r pressures and you'll be fine. Its a bit heavier than the Kawa and you'll feel it when the pressures drop.
