Welcome to the forum mate. I'm often down at Phillip Island, Wonthaggi, and Inverloch area. One of my favourite day rides.
As for chainlube, I don't think there is one that doesn't fling off, most will just resist fling.
The one I use was recommended by my dealer, minimal fling.

Silkolene Chain Gel seems to work pretty well for me... I just installed a Scotoiler though, so chain lube is a thing of the past
looks like this
Don't get the semi synthetic, I got it by mistake and it is rubbish

Welcome to the forum. I use Maxima - it is pretty resistive to being flung off. I don't recommend Motul - it flys off much quicker than Maxima.

That's only for fairies who can't use Shell properly
I'll chuck Shell into the mix. I've use I'd for over 10 years now. The trick is not to put to much on but they all fling off.
I lube about every 500km as the chain rotates around the rear sprocket.
I don't clean the back wheel until I've had a quick ride around the block if the bike is up for a wash.
The chain and sprockets get a kero clean 3 times a year.
Oh welcome. I sometimes ride down to the Island for shits and giggles.

Hi & welcome to the forum . I`ll confuse the issue for you & say I use motul road .If you don`t drown it with lube and let it set a bit before riding off , there will be minimal fling off . The other thing I found is this lube is one of the only ones to stay on when riding in a lot of rain for any length of time . I usually stay at Wonthaggi when at Phillip Island / nice part of the country . Enjoy the forum mate

Thanx to everyone who replied
Yeh I know those guys Gus, although i don't mingle in the same circles, & I don't think they ride bikes ? I think the ryans surf & syco is still drawing houses, As for the chain lube I am using Bel Ray but i think i'm a bit heavy handed. I'll see how it goes.

Re: New Member from down South (phillip Island
Welcome aboard & thanks for the invite.... I'll be down at Cowes with some mates at the end of February and already have accom. booked in a dual occupancy block of units... fairly pricey but a lock-up garage to keep all the bikes secure and about a 5 min walk to the main street...Looking forward to it - the ride there and back is the best part as far as I'm concerned!
I use the shell lube... but it does fling off.... I give it a spray after the bikes come back from a bit of a ride and so the chain is warm... sit it up on the centre stand and while it rotates in 1st gear spray both the inside and outside of the chain..
I let it sit then and probably the next day wipe the residue off with a clean rag (doesn't stay clean for long!)... that way the fling off is minimal.. Also give the chain a clean with a brush and kero every few months or when I think it needs it!

Welcome to the forum.
Ewok and I will be at WSB at the Island in Feb amd will try and catch you for a beer. I lived in Gippsland in my younger days and have fond memories of the place.
With regard to minimal fling from chain lube - Listen to Bhoffo - he has the cleanest mortorcycle that I have ever seen outside a museum. I dream about his header pipes! (fk, I just realised how weird that sounds)
