My First "Bandit"
I introduced myself already here at the "Introduce yourself"
I have this Motorcycle for a few weeks now and must say I really, really, really enjoy the ride. It is not as powerful and fast as my Blackbird was, but it is such a easy gentle and yet performs when you need it to. I will have the Yoshimura Carbon pipe fitted by end this week. I have added the red pin striped on the wheel and the verdict is still out if I like it or not. However with the pin-stripes it does feel quicker and more powerful...

The red is a bit distracting isn't it . Strange ,its only a pin line.

I like the rim stripes. It reminds me of the Bat mobile. Looks good.
Nice comfy seat too.

I think you'll like the yoshi pipe, they sound great with a nice burble when you're off the gas.
You can't beat a shiny, black bike. It shows all the hard work you put into it.
Have a look at a tinted screen for the front and a set of braided lines will sharpen up the brakes.
Well done on joining the Bandit family!!!

I decided to go with gold/yellow pin stripes with Bandit text. The logos were pretty cheap from the UK - just search eBay. I put them on before the pin stripe. I found it helps break up the effect of the striping.

Nice of you to rush out there and take a pic in the dark Ewok. Amongst the gunfire and all.

The rim BANDIT stickers look good, you'll have to remove that reflector on the forks though.
The BAT MOBILE Bandit above needs a flame out the back aswell. Have a look at some RED braided brake lines , it'll look like it has some arteries running through it.
What getto was the Bandit going through to be shot at? must be western Sydney some where! or out in the Wild bushranger plains in the high country perhaps...

Last year at the Island Superbikes, I saw a CBR1000rr with the underseat exhaust containing a spinning minnie gun. Pretty cool looking.

It is a ADR requirement and will cop you a defect in most statesTruck bandit wrote:The rim BANDIT stickers look good, you'll have to remove that reflector on the forks though.

What if you had reflective tape on the forks or wheel?

I had silver rim stickers that glow orange under street lights, it looks cool, but then the rims were silver too. (Cb250 lol)

Re: My First "Bandit"
There are a lot of things that should comply with ADR but we tend to disregard them.
Show me a copper that would even know what to look for like a little reflector.
Under seat units, loud exhausts, tinted helmet visors, sitting on 10kph over the limit the list could go on and on.
My philosophy is that if you aren't doing something that'll make you stick out too much from the crowd, you'll more than likely be OK.

Re: My First "Bandit"
Nice job Bikenut, for what its worth I like the tape. Will look the goods with R77 Carbon can too.
Truckbandit, you are right in thinking the cops probably wouldn't know or couldn't care less as they generally have a hell of a lot on their plate day to day. BUT I can guarantee the RMS inspectors will know every little rule in the book as they DO NOT have anything better to do. Its a good thing therefore that they spend every working moment hassling the crap out of truck drivers and leaving motorcyclists alone. Has anyone detected a hint of ( pack of basterds ) in my voice?
I'm not talking faulty brakes or speed limiter tampering. I mean one side reflector missing or one clearance light blown. Thats what made me think of the comparison.
Ewok, get rid of the reflectors and put them on your pushy. Unless of course if you get T-boned and it nulifys your insurance. (Hoping this doesn't happen)

I have seen a stack of defects issued in one day by a clued up traffic cop (on a bike) in SA, pulled over every bike that came past him, a few were for no rear guard, most no red rear reflector and a hand full of no amber reflectors, there is pedantic coppers out there looking for easy stat's Truck bandit
Yoshi Pipe added
Fitted the Yoshi Pipe and it sounds great and feel good with the exhaust note on acceleration.

Looks nice. Now just get rid of those ugly, overweight, and restrictive headers.

I'd add a couple of Yoshi decals discreetly to the fairing - they'd go nicely with the red rim tape. I have a spare set like this if you want them just PM me a postal address.

Re: My First "Bandit"
Looks fantastic.
I got the stainless can and end cap.
It's loud but not obnoxiuosly loud and allows better c-ordination with the throttle.
The best part I like is the burbble it gives when backing of in 3rd and 4th gears, wicked!
Check out the Suzuki/Yoshi stand they have at the island and they give thos stickers away by the hundreds.
Good looking machine - well done.

Lucky the average age of us Bandito's is pre-decimal so we understand what "inches" mean....
