Re: Disc Locks
No idea. I have one out in the shed. Brand new, never used it. You want it ? it's yours. Oh it has a built in alarm that works. I played with it when I got it.

Re: Disc Locks
This is the one I've got Chris Motoradar disc lock
This one has a shock sensitive alarm built in
Only time I've really used it is when the bike was parked outside the motel on the Cowra ride. Don't use for short stops

What size pins do we need Brian?
Hammy have you fitted yours to the 1250?
If yes how much $$$$ do you want?
Was asked as a Christmas present but they can get me something for a V Twin
Re: Disc Locks
I just measure the pin on mine at 6.5mm and the holes in a front rotor at 7mm.2wheelsagain wrote:Cool thanks guys.madmax wrote:This is the one I've got Chris Motoradar disc lock

Re: Disc Locks
Remember 2 skateboards and your bike is gone . I can break into a certain brand in 30 seconds with a battery powered tool . I know because I lost the key.
It had an alarm.
All alarms go off by accident in the shed so neighbors just say "gus is playing in the shed again " and ignore it .

No lock or alarm is total security, its about discouraging the opportunists.

Re: Disc Locks
You can overcome the alarm and 30 seconds off, even if you don't bother .
Lets just say ,get one with the mechanism BELLOW the steel housing .Where the key goes in, it should be recessed in, NOT a dome .

Re: Disc Locks
Its also a good idea to put a cord of some sort ( some locks come with them ) from your lock to your handlebars by the throttle preferably , to remind you the lock is there .I know of quite a few who went to take off forgetting it's there ( no not me Hammy )

Re: Disc Locks
Mate you can have it for postage. It is a little heavy. like me . Will fish it out when I get home. Am certain that it fits Bandit. I bought 2 of them, one for Jan, when we rode to Rocky. Never even took them with us. Derrr. Has the bright cord thingy to remind you it's on. Will get back to you.2wheelsagain wrote:Cool thanks guys.madmax wrote:This is the one I've got Chris Motoradar disc lock

No need to be that generous mate so put a price on it and chuck it in a pre paid bag at the post office.
I can Paypal or direct deposit.
Now I agree with Gus they can be beaten and like James I have full insurance but it must be a gutting feeling to go to the shed and find you're bike missing They must still be a deterrent though.
I'm probably unlikely to use it just parked up the street but if I'm away from home for a while I will.
Thanks for the pin size Brian
Re: Disc Locks
You'd hear mine if you got on and forgot to take it off first. The alarm is that sensitive I sometimes set it off just inserting the keypaul wrote:Its also a good idea to put a cord of some sort ( some locks come with them ) from your lock to your handlebars by the throttle preferably , to remind you the lock is there .I know of quite a few who went to take off forgetting it's there ( no not me Hammy )

Re: Disc Locks
2 bikes, 2 disk locks.
An ABUS (no longer made) - good lock.
A Master (its ordinary)
Neither of these are alarmed, but I sleep within 3 metres of the bikes, and its a big louvered window, they are just outside of. I have a dog, and the street has no footpath and its all gravel. Good luck with the skateboards. Would be thieves would have to be VERY quiet and carry the bike away to do this. Anyway, the trees have eyes around here. If the thieves live in the town, someone will know them.

Re: Disc Locks
I did have an expensive top of the range one but it rained and killed it. Now I have an Aldi brand and it's faultless.
