Gus let me know what length you require. I have a perfectly good pair that I took off my 1200. Will measure them for you.

Re: Standard 1250 dog bones .
are the 1200 and the 1250 the same shock and the same counter lever for the swing arm??
thought there was geometry changes between the two models?
if they are 1200 standard is 180mm
can`t you get into yours Gus, just measure from top to top of your upper and lower eye bolts, that will be your centres

Re: Standard 1250 dog bones .
I took mine off and measured . I got 179 so I guess 180 is right (mine have been altered then gone back to standard ).
Bike angle on side stand has always been a little steep ive thought .
1 mm closer eyes = 5mm extra tail lift so it all adds up .
Ive got a gsxr 1000 shock coming which will lift the tail so I need tho know standard
to work out how much to change the dog bones to get bike ride height right .
Meaning, if shock lifts bike 25 mm -holes need to be 5mm further apart to take it back down the 25mm .

Re: Standard 1250 dog bones .
what 1000 have you got?
07-08 centres are 316mm, and when I had mine on I made up 2 dog bones to play with
one was 172mm and the other 171mm.
the 171 gave me an extra 25mm overall from standard height.
I didn`t want standard height, which I think was 175-176mm.
remember, smaller dog bones = more height

Re: Standard 1250 dog bones .
more ground clearance means less tagging when cornering(still happens though, not a sports bike) and also shortens the wheel base which in turn gives sharper steeringSuzySuzuki wrote:An inch....

No, I will never use them, but they are 180mm centres and if that is what is std then they would not be any use to you. Or would they ? Yours if you want em Gus.gus wrote:How spare , spare as in "i'll use these one day " or "dam things i'll never use "?

I'll have them for sure . I'll get one end welded up closed and then re-drill it when I work out
the correct position of the hole I need .This way the bike will not be off the road .
