Pads......
After changing my front Metal Gear brake pads to some others I had,i couldn't believe the instant difference .
Dek . suggested another brand but I noticed it said Sports Riding .Looking at Deks bike I get the feeling he is more "sports" than I am so they may not
suit my style .(between slow and a "fair" pace )
I thought all pads were pretty well the same but now I know better .
My Aprilia's Brembos are the best I have used but they cost .
Soooo ,is sports any good for general use at in "tour" mode ?
Forget the question any brake experts ?
Pads arnt very expensive ,my braking at best is probably poor but I don't run into cars .Much

Re: Pads......
My guess would be that a "sport" pad would need more heating up than a normal pad to reach its optimal operating temp'. But. seeing as we are all no Mick or Casey I don't think that would matter a great deal in normal road use. am still yet to try out the ABS system on mine. So I guess the pads are OK. Or I'm just slow.

Re: Pads......
But how does one define slow . Speed limit ? Got to be less than that ? I get stuck behind slow ,I ve seen Hammy he's not SLOW .
Ive seen fast on the the road but it often fast AND reckless .
A group of guys I used to ride with used to pay out on me because of my general pace . Two are now dead and the rest have retired from bikes
because of it . Mind you, beer and bongs half way isn't my idea of a group ride .
Stuffed if I know how i'd call my pace . I just try to NOT CRASH
I'm going to try a soft pad () I hardly ever wear them out ()

Re: Pads......
Dale sells/recommends the Ferodo Road Sinter pads, used them, definite improvement over stock but does not turn the Bandit system into any better than adequate. On the Bimota YB11 had a Brembo goldline setup that I felt was inferior to the stock (+ EBC pads) on the CBR929RR. That setup was a bit 'grabby' but may well have come into its own on the track. The pads I am using at the moment (apart from the maxi pads that is) are Braking CM55, which are a road sport pad. I reckon these give really good feel, heat rapidly and not expensive.
