BMW City 2 Pants
The Leathers have been sold, so it was off to get some stuff i wanted to start with ( sorry darling).
After a search of the interweb different types of summer pants, Gortex nice but very expensive, kevlar, Cordura what to buy
i didnt like the cut of draggins as they don't make a stout, dont ya hate short legs. Hornee style was not my liking, same with the neds, I really like the resolutions but they had jeans studs on them so i was keen on them either. Tiger angel gortex pants very nice but but very expensive.
A mate has a pair of BMW city pants, reckons that there the best thing going. As BMW have upgraded to the City Pants 2, the pictures on the web site are very deceiving as the colour is Gun
but the picture is brown, but they are actually more a olive green, and for $330 they are worth every cent, from the moment i put them on, they were really comfy
4 zippered pockets are deep and useful, double loop belt to keep em up, plus a 2 year warranty ( Very Cool) not like the one too warranty ya get with dririder. Velcro and zippered legs to go over your boots and quality zippers too
material is like a Denim, it will interesting to see how water resistant they are, thigh pads are there but unobtrusive and the knee & shin guards meet the top of your boot for added protection
and are removable, i did feel the knee guards to start with but they moulded into place after about a 1/2 hour.
the only thing i dont like about is the dickie clip, a button and button hole would have been much better i reckon it wont take long to break but they do give you a spare
Having traveled back from Canberra in them today, i had a bit of rain, it was cloudy, windy and sunny so it gave the pants a good work out and i am impressed wish i had bought them earlier
as for a crash test i reckon that they hold up as good as any quality textile pant i think that my expensive dririder vortexes would probably come of second best is a crash test compared to these
Do i recommend them, yes! look there not for every one but if your looking for a good all round jean type pants to do fairweather riding then certainly look at the BMW city Pants 2.
Yes i know it has BMW on it but hey there great pants

Re: BMW City 2 Pants
Procycles at St Peters have these pants on sale for $219 which is really cheap, so I bought a pair. Not many green ones left but plenty of blue ones.

Re: BMW City 2 Pants
6 month review.
I have had the bmw city 2 pants for over 6 months now, and they are awesome. really comfortable, i have just about worn them on every ride i have been on since i bought them no real down sides except ive lost a bit of weight so there starting to get a bit big for me.
I ve chucked em in the wash a couple times now and there getting a nice fade to them. On the rides in winter i wore some thermals and i had no problems, on my ride back from Bemm river last weekend i did get a bit hot from the ambient air temp and the hot air being exited out of my fairing, it pays to carry some over pants as they are definatly not water proof but only once i got wet and it was more to see if i got wet, which i did.
The dicky clip has not been a issue the belt works well all the zippers still work and no loose threads, all in all, i really have to say if you looking for riding pants then certainly look at the BMW city pants 2 money well spend agreed baz

Re: BMW City 2 Pants
I agree Jim. The only issue I have with them is the small crotch ... the Germans must have small dicks cause I battle to whip it out, really do.
That might be why there so comfy on the bike.

This is sometimes necessary on long rides.
