turned 40 so i bought a bandit !
Hi there my name is watto and i just upgraded from a 99 zx6r to a 2010 1250 because the riding position much better suits my dirt bike roots and my aching neck and back!
Have only ridden the bike twice and love it , i have been reading many posts about getting more power but would love to hear other peoples comments on how to get more to start with on a tight budget untill i can afford expensive upgrade parts.
The bike came with a Beowolf slipon and i removed airbox snorkel and drilled 40mm hole .

Welcome watto - can't help much with your questions though. The Yoshi R77 added about 7% hp & torque increase without any intake side mods. I haven't done any other performance related mods.

Welcome aboard
I can’t believe the Kawa had such shit brakes your first mod here is looking for more power.
Surely they’re like chalk and cheese.

I live at Currency Creek , SA where we are in the middle of about a 50 km radius of sweet windy whindy? roads.
The kwaka was a really exiting bike to ride , if you kept it on song it would easily keep up with bigger sports bikes until you hit open stuff , but i couldnt just cruise on it and it was going to get me into trouble eventually.
I picked the bandit for the upright riding position and the big bullet proof motor , just wouldnt mind a little bit more punch .
Going to a supermoto track day at Tailem Bend tommorrow , got some road tyres for my lads kx 85 !

G'day Watto. Welcome to the forum. You have your self a very nice & well looked after bike, From a top bloke!
Power mods on the Bandit are cheapish compared to other mades/models.
The Power mod's:
*Open air box lid. Free.
*K&N Air filter. About $60 from eBay.
*Removed Secondaries. Free.
*Arrows headers. About $500
*Yoshi Can. About $400-$500.
*Advanced Timing Retard Eliminator. About $160.
*Powercommander3 About $300
& a good tuner $350. = power & Torque delivery a lot, lot better then standard.
If I was you, When the time comes for a tune. Go to one of the best in Neville Lush!
He got me 130+hp at the wheel!

The Italian price is US$589 before shipping - same part number - even with their freight charges of between US$75 and $96 that is still a pretty good deal.
