Stripping off. It is DONE!!!
First topic message reminder :
My Bandit "S" is going naked.
Headlamp brackets ordered.
7inch H4 headlamp from my BMW. May respray the bucket satin black.
Bar end mirrors order. Will spray the bar end parts satin black.
Contacted Eastern Beaver about making me a relay harness to convert from twin globes to one H4 globe. Waiting his reply.
Instrument shrouds? Will either use a Buell style fly screen to cover this great naked ugliness up as the S does not have any bottom to the pods. Or see if the black BMW pods I have can be cut up and used.

Full instrument pods came in yesterday. They did have some scuffing in the chrome. Rubbed back. Several layers of matt black paint later. Brackets to hold the instruments had to be altered to fit the covers on and now the bike is done. Until I find something else to fiddle and change on it.

The bar end mirrors I bought off eBay have not lasted long. The right hand mirror ended up flapping around on my hand the other day. I was riding along when the mirror decided that it had enough. So I have ditched them and bought some "N" clamps to hold mirrors on stalks (more on this in a another posting later.)
I have also made some frame side covers. On the "S" because of the fairing the covers up near the steering head are not supplied. I could have bought some new or second hand off eBay but decided to make my own.
As I call my Bandit 'el-Lobo' ,which in Spanish means 'the Wolf' I have engraved a wolf into the side plates. These plates were cut from 2mm aluminium. Shaped, engraved, painted and then mounted. One on each side. They cover up all that wiring etc that stands out like dogs balls with no cover.

I can't afford an new exhaust system nor do I really wont one. After the booming staintuines on my BMW I really like how not noisy the Bandit is.
I do have some LED indicators and a Holeshot 5° timing advancer coming.

I am sick of the fairing vibrating. I have used felt in places and still it rubs. Twice not it has fallen off the sidestand. Both times my fault. Last time there was damage to the paint work. I am sick of fairing. Look what was on the BMW I have.
Honda Swan Hill has a naked Bandit for sale.... its done over 8000 kms, and i think he wanted around $10,000 for it. I dont like the look of it, so glad I bought mine when I did, or hubby would have made me buy it.

Yeah I basically told him that..
I bought mine at Suzuki in Swan Hill, with 800kms on it... plus I traded a kwaka KLX250, and paid $7100 changeover... im pretty happy with that, cause we didnt want the dirtbike anymore. (that one only had 1500kms on it too)

when I first started reading this thread, I thought, oh no. but I have to say even though I wouldn't do it to mine (unless maybe the fairing was severely damaged and not an insurance job) you have made that conversion look very nice indeed. I like naked and semi naked bikes, they just look like bikes should look to me. shame the mirrors didn't work out, I thought they suited the bike well.

Here is how I moved the pillion pegs... http://rossmz.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/el-lobo-hunches-up-knees-permanent-fix.html
The mirrors I settled on are brilliant when it comes to seeing behind. The LED indicators built into them are not that bright.
