First topic message reminder :

My Bandit "S" is going naked.

Headlamp brackets ordered.

Stripping off. It is DONE!!! - Page 2 3lampenholderalloyarms

7inch H4 headlamp from my BMW. May respray the bucket satin black.

Stripping off. It is DONE!!! - Page 2 1024xnaked_hedlamp_2012_03_08_001

Bar end mirrors order. Will spray the bar end parts satin black.

Stripping off. It is DONE!!! - Page 2 Barmirrors

Contacted Eastern Beaver about making me a relay harness to convert from twin globes to one H4 globe. Waiting his reply.

Instrument shrouds? Will either use a Buell style fly screen to cover this great naked ugliness up as the S does not have any bottom to the pods. Or see if the black BMW pods I have can be cut up and used.

I assume she will be different at the front. The fairing brackets weighs a tonne. Not having this on will make a difference.

That looks really good Ross

You can buy both the upper and lower instrument cases from suzuki and convert your instruments to the same as the naked model according to the guys who have done this in the UK

Upper inst case part #

34150-32F00

This is a bit pricey at $ 160 US just for the top part

lower case part #

34111-32F00

this is a bit cheaper at $56 US

you may be able to use just the bottom part and make it fit the top you already have as a cheaper alternative

Prices quoted from

It is done. Wiring harness from Eastern Beaver could not have been easier to put in. I did have to cut into the bike's headlamp harness. Solder is my friend. The low beam is still on when the high beam is on. That I will fix later.

I had to fabricate some blinker brackets. No big drama. Had some flat aluminium stock laying around. Cut shape and drill and they are done.

Stripping off. It is DONE!!! - Page 2 1024x_Naked_Done_2012_04_23_005

When I took the fairing bracket off I noticed how heavy it is. I have taken the bike for a ride up and down the street and the front end feels so much lighter. Will have to adapt to this when it comes to spirited corning.

I did have some trouble getting the bike started after I put the tank back on. I don't know if it the fact that there was no fuel in the carbs or not. Prime setting on the fuel tap seemed to help as it took several goes to get it to fire up. Now that it is warmed up it starts and runs fine. As far as I know I connected everything back up the way it was.

I love the look. Very pleased with indeed.

Looks pretty good Ross. I like the size of the headlight. Is the old fairing going on the front of the Bemmer ? Smile Maybe with some Viking Horns attached. Twisted Evil

That's a good result, anyone else contemplating this could try here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310406797736&ssPageName=ADME:B:FSEL:GB:1123
Don't know how the price compares but it has a place for the indicator.

The Entrance beach looks a bit worse for wear and I see they've e parked some of our ships down there, so the
Port Authority looks more efficient.

Mate I could not be happier. Even the head shake I was getting when riding with hands off has now gone.

Not as bad as in the long past when that beach had cliffs. There was a very short period of time a year ago when there where no ships off the coats due to that new coal thingie in your harbour. Now they are back.

Babies cried and dogs howled when I posed for that photo.

I use Paint.net. A free graphics' package from paint.net. I used a few of the filters you can download for this. One is a High Pass and the other lets you make the blue bluer.

No worries. I didn’t know if it was deliberate or not.

Done and dusted now. Made some small adjustments here and there to the headlamp brackets and the routing of the throttle cables.
