August 18 (Confirmed)
First topic message reminder :
Calling all Victorians (and everyone else)
Ewok and I are planning a ride to Healesville through the West Gippsland hills around 18, 19 or 20 August (sat, sun, mon)
A date will be confirmed a little later depending on who wants to come and when people might be available.
The plan is to meet others at Healesville's Beachworth Bakery for lunch then wander on to Sugarloaf Reservoir or Maroondah Reservoir which is just up the road. These locations should be convenient to Melb people.
Of course you can join us along the way for a ride up or tag along for the ride back.
Kaupy have a think about it. Its about the same distance

Sorry Guys I gotta bug out. I have to have this alternator wound by Monday or I get charged for the whole roll $328. I still have to clean up the body of the thing and the old insulation is like concrete.

The "areas of rain" bit sounds substantial - fingers crossed we don't get drenched

Re: August 18 (Confirmed)
The forecast is looking worse hour by hour.
A couple have pulled out for other reasons.
Rain and strong winds with chance of hail for southern Vic.
How many Melb people are still planning on going?
Happy for people to txt or call me. Number is in my sig.

Re: August 18 (Confirmed)
As much as I am looking forward to the ride, the weather forecast does appear to be dodgey, but the heavy weather looks to be coming in later in the day/evening (if you can believe a forecast). I suspect we'll still hit rain but the question is "how much"? I'm happy if we defer to a new date.

Re: August 18 (Confirmed)
I'd resigned myself to the fact that Im GOING to get pretty wet - possibly saturated!!
Not fussed either way lads - if you want to postpone......Im easy.
Rain, rain and more rain forcast - but not in Noojee! Snowing there

Sorry guys cant make it, did get 500 meters up the rd when the bike hating terrier finally got the balls to have a crack and sadly he came off second best and is currently sleeping uncomfortably at the vets, but my poor old bandit did make out scott free, the mutt some how got jammed up under fairing and split the radiator, tried to get it fixed this morning but it too badly damaged.
So the bike out of action till i get a new radiator from the nice lady who ownes the dog. One bonus though i didnt fall off i suppose there is a first for every thing
So be safe and enjoy

Ride Postponed
Sorry guys every check of weather services suggests rain, hail, wind and generally unpleasant riding conditions.
So I have made the call to postpone tomorrows meet up.
Us Victorians will get together one day I hope.
Ewok and I might get a ride in somewhere between showers and blizzards.
If someone has contact details for a known starter could you let them know please.

Bit of a bugger to hear you've got crook weather down that way. Just looking outside, not a cloud to be seen on the awsome mid north coast!

Re: August 18 (Confirmed)
I don't think its going to be as bad as you think. Rain easing to scattered showers with a top of 14. A little windy though at 25-40k.
The radar shows the showers heading north away from Gippsland.
Its currently clear blue sky over me with almost no wind.

Re: August 18 (Confirmed)
Traralgon also has patches of blue sky. I'm still meeting Chris at 10.00 for a coffee and a decision on whether (and where) we do a ride. So still could meet up with any guys willing to brave it - may not be Healeville depending on who's keen. Just give 2WA a ring on the mobile number in his signature block if interested and we'll get back to you ~10.00am.

You could have planned an alternative
The black dog riders appeared in Swan Hill last night, came up from Melbourne way, you could have met up with them and rode up here in nice conditions... bummer

And that's exactly why I can't understand people who ride/drive without insurance.
You sure you need a police report with out injuries?
Let's ins handle it and enjoy your bike Jim.
What's the verdict on the dog?
