Yoshimura R-77 Slip On
First topic message reminder :
Ok so I have expensive taste...
The Yoshimura R-77 is a great looking slip on pipe (in my opinion), especially in stainless steel with the carbon end cap. I had it installed during the pre-delivery of my bike so I'm not sure how difficult it is to fit, but it came with full instructions and seems straightforward enough.
The sound is excellent, not very loud at idle or low speed, but builds nicely on full throttle. However, it is supplied with an insert that you can use to make it quieter. It is also heaps lighter, narrower and shorter than the original suzuki exhaust.
Highly recommended, check it out at http://www.yoshimura-rd.com

Re: Yoshimura R-77 Slip On
Just one more question guys with the Yoshi,
The instructions say no gasket required when fitting the slipe on.
Have read one or two people saying that they have a minor exhaust leak, although in the main not much comment at all to say use a gasket sealer.
Seeing I'm fitting mine later this week, would it be better to put some sealant in whilst I'm in the fitting process or just bypass that and follow the manufactures instruction and go without.
Thanks in advance,
Garry

Thanks for the reply, madmax wrote:I used a muffler sealant on mine.
I found some time to ring the Suzuki dealer workshop manager today and he said the same.
Yep asking some basic questions here, but it's better to ask before fitment from people who know more than me.

Mine has no gasket and doesn't leak after 45k kms. A bit of sealant won't hurt though. Do yourself a favour and throw the insert in the bin.

Thanks for the feedback, Can't wait to fit it. Soo busy at work can't take time off for 2 weeks, I have a big shed/man cave so it's starting to look like a night job under good lighting.Sloth_27 wrote:Mine has no gasket and doesn't leak after 45k kms. After hearing the Hayabusa with two R77s with no inserts, I'm like a kid at the fairy floss stall waiting to be served.

Fitted last night (Thursday) whilst in me shed and Beautifulll. Couldn't get my eyes off it along with sound and mega weight difference. Had quite afew stubbies of Carlton Draught after the job was done admiring the Yoshi.Ewok1958 wrote:You'll love it!
Also bet you start talking about popping/backfiring and PAIRS block-off!!!!
Took it out for run very late this arvo, Ewok 1958, yes popping/backfire a plenty. Will have to study up on blocking pairing line.
Picture looks like theres a mark on the exhaust under the peg. But there's no mark there, just the camera shot.

A job well done - especially if well lubricated!

Nice one. The pairs ( cheap version ) is the easiest job you will ever do on the Bandit. Also think about the air box lid mod. Your engine now wants more air. Enjoy.
