I sometimes access it from my phone or tablet. I'm sure others do too
there is a mobile version, well it comes up on my phone anyway. It just doesn't format itself very well.
I've only ever got a poorly scaled version of the full site. Whats the URL please
It comes up as a button at the bottom right of the normal screen, next to report abuse.
It doesn't show there on my PC
The URL is the same
Oh yeah that one. Its worse than useless
Yeah as I said it doesn't format itself very well. I don't use it either.

Is there any ability to have an area to post attachments like files, diagrams etc?

not in vain I hope
they use this system on another forum & it can be quite handy at times ( like when you`ve been quoted on something )

I see I'm not the only one who couldn't find it!
Its at the bottom of the page, it should be up with "view posts since last visit"

Re: Forum Improvements
I find the way you have to post photos quite complex.... I'd like to see that made easier...
Maybe a 'favourite' folder of your own too? (links to posts that you might want to refer to later)

If you click on the "actions" link at the top of a thread you will see several options. One of them is Favorites
I've not used it but it should be what you want.
Posting pix is the same here as any other forum I have used (& been kicked off ) Photos are slightly easier to post from Picasa or Photobucket. I use Picasa usually. But all you need is an image URL inside pic here so pinching a pic off the net is easy.

Yep... thanks... the 'actions' tab did it... re the photo uploads.. I don't know... I'm on some other forums and you can choose the file direct from your own photo folder; so long as it is within the file size allowed you can load it up straight from there. Very easy.. Anyway just an idea..

Re: Forum Improvements
There should be a minimum number of posts required before someone can post up an item for sale.

You shouldn't be allowed to post anything anywhere unless you've already posted something on the Introduce yourself thread!

Thats do-able. Another site I whore on has the for sale section as a closed forum until a member has "proved their worth". This neans that we can all see and use the forum except n00bs. It just requires the admin or mods to allow usernames every once in a while.

Re: Forum Improvements
I would like to think that an honour system would work. Are there "Site Rules" ? It could just be a rule that until you have the required number of posts ( and that number is posted clearly for all to see ) then you are not permitted to lodge ads. Simple.

It'd be nice if when we log off then log on again it doesn't mark unread posts as read.

Dont log off Mick.
Just kill the page/tab then next time click "posts since last visit".

It doesnt for me. There is a button up the top "mark all posts as read"
If i dont click that, if i havnt read them, they stay unread regardless of how many times i log in and out.

Re: Forum Improvements
This has been suggested a few times but uploading pics from your PC would be great. I have no pics stored in the public domain and have no intention of going down that path.
Pics can improve a post greatly, you know the old saying "a picture's worth a thousand words".
I think a site with more pics is mre interesting and consequently gets more traffic.
My 2 cents worth

Its quite easy to do from within the post window.
HERE
A Photobucket or Picasa account is the better way to go and most of us have one or both.
If you dont want to go down that path accept the limitations you have imposed upon yourself

Re: Forum Improvements
Whilst it might appear easier to us users for the pictures to be hosted in the forum, the main hassle will be the storage space it takes up. I am not sure what limitations Cameron has, but being a free forum I would venture he doesn't have the capacity to hold this type of media - probably why the gallery section is vertually closed down.
From what I have seen on a number of other forums, it is fairly normal to use the third party suppliers to host the pictures. I also find it easier to search my hosted pictures as I don't need to go through all the listings on the site trying to remember what thread I put it in, only a small thing but saves a bit of frustration.
I haven't heard of anyone getting their machines hacked from pictures being hosted, it all seems pretty simple and safe to me, others might have different experiences. I find that once you get the hang of putting up a picture it is not too difficult.
