65,000kms on my 1250FA and it's time for some improvements
G'day all,
I got my GSX1250FA as ex-demo in 2011 and have done 65,000Kms of commuting, touring and track time. I'm in no way mechanical, nor even practical, but it's time for some improvements.
Found this site about a year ago when the Fuel Pump trick saved me $800 - many thanks again for that one!!
The tag 'FrankenFairing' is in reference to the fact that my bike has been dropped twice on Phillip Island and once on Eastern Creek and as much love as it's received it to have it's fairing stitched together with cable ties. In fact almost the only thing that happened on the 2nd drop at Phillip island (in a small river crossing Honda on the last lap of the wettest track day in 9 years apparently) was that it popped it's stitches - it has lovely blue ones now. Bike is silver.
Anyway, I've read the forums to get the tip on Terry Hay's Shock Treatment and am booked in there for a much needed upgrade. I had been investigating the Busa shock option as a cheap and cheerful way to go, but apparently the ABS gets in the way...
Cheers for any and all advice you can offer - unfortunately I can't reciprocate.
Have fun!

Welcome to the forum FrankenFairing ................well it doesn't sound like you wrap your bike in cotton wool & just polish it on weekends

Welcome aboard mate.
Good to see a Bandit ridden and loved.
There's plenty of information on here. Feel free to have an input as well.
