A Bandit Forum Get Together - Stage 1

First topic message reminder :

Folks,
I notice that it is about 2,000 - 2,100 kms from Adelaide to Brisbane (or Brisbane to Adelaide - take your pick). So what you might ask? Well, it offers an opportunity for many of us forum members to meet up somewhere roughly in the middle (don't ask me exactly where - I'm making this up as I go) - but it would have to be roughly half way. I know any kind of ride like this wouldn't suit the sandgropers, NT, NZ, USA, Italy, Greece, Sweden, etc members but that's just a fact of life with a country the size of Europe. I'm not talking about this year but what if we decided to have a big Bandit forum get together somewhere in the Spring/Summer of 2013? That should give enough advance notice for the wheels to be put in motion, surely. I'm quite happy to organise it.

Details are:
Date: 1 - 3 November 2013 (ie Friday nigtht & Saturday night for those wanting a two night stay)
Place: Cowra
Accommodation options: Option 1 - The Imperial Hotel (02 634102588) (prices start at $65 for a single room but are as low as $115 for an ensuite room with 1 dbl and 2 sgl beds). There are also ensuite rooms for two at $100 per room (1 dble, 1 sgl). Option 2 the Sovereign Inn (02 6342 1055) (price is $69 per person twin share or $127 for a single). It is directly opposite the Imperial across Kendal St - both look good. Book individually. Special group price will apply to all, irrespective of individual bookings.
Plans: Individuals organise their own rides to and from (with other members or solo, as preferred). Groups meet up at accommodation. Day trip to Bathurst for those interested on Saturday for a few laps of the circuit. Counter lunch in Bathurst. Pub meal in Cowra Sat night. Departure Sunday AM.

I have plans booked on the saturday. So if they are locked in, i will meet you all at cowra late saturday arvo/evening. And ride home with the sydney guys sunday.

I might be joining you at the start Jim down at the coast. We are planning to do the sea change in Spring so I'm not sure whether my start point will be Monash or Merimbula at the moment. It depends on other factors.

hi Reardo im tryn to talk my missus into goin over for this run,if she doesnt want to go then id still love to go,im out your way too,lol.,sort of im out near port wakefield in south oz,we could hook up for this ride easy tho..ive got a few medical issues tho so i wouldnt be 100%sure till a couple weeks even a week b4 the rides due..in saying that,,,,i should be rite for it..what sort of time frame would you have for a ride this distance?i tend to take my time,stress free..

This is looking good. No commitment at this point from me though. I can never plan that far ahead. Looking at dates 6 months out is like looking at next century. Nice to see what is coming up, though but anything can happen in the mean time.

Hey Pete. I'm much the same in a lot of way's mate. I really want to go, But I have a couple of medical issues too, as well as a job that is looking at sacking blokes.

But if the stars align I'll be there!!!

I'd probably go Broken Hill down to Midura on to Hay (590km for me) to stay over night, then on to Cowra (415km).
How many Km's do you think you can cover in a day? Port wakefield to Mildura (426km) or Hay is 720km.

reardo,thanks for gettn back to me,well mate,things arent to great at the minute,rite now i can probably do 100k then id have to stop for at least an hour..i dont kno ohnestly,im fucked mate..i just about had efucknuff,i cant do shit..tryed to adjust my chain yesty and today and cos i sold my bike lift im tryn to bend over,crawln round on the concrete floor,i ended up agrevating my back injury and im stuffed.this is a constant thing.got a mri on the 17th and we will see what they say after that..i dont want to give up doing the one thing that i love but ive never experienced pain like this nerve dammage in my life,every single stinkn freekn night and day.just eats away at you..sorry for the rant,i need to go for a ride but i can hardly move,,later mate,

 I asked Jan if she wanted to come.  She just gave me one of those funny looks.  Yip I'll be goin' alone.  Hope someone else from up here is going to give me some company. Am trying to talk a good mate of mine into riding his Trumpy down.
