Tamworth overnighter sat 27 sun 28 March

Doing a weekend treck to Tamworth on the date below.

Date: Sat 27, sun 28 March 2010
Meet: Magraths Hill McDonalds
Time: 0800 meet, 0830 depart
Route:Up the Putty Rd. Along Golden Hwy. Edderton Rd to Muswellbrook for lunch. Then New England Hwy to Tamworth. Basically the same route home. Will slightly differ, depending on where people are travelling from. If anybody up north wants to meet up for the ride along the way, let me know and will arrange a meet point.

Im pretty sure its about $80 for a double. include brekie if we decide to have it there. Real good accomodation, just a short walk to the club for dinner.

I also have another small group of people coming along.

Not sure how many rooms are left, so if anybody still wants to join us, even for a part of the ride, there is a motel directly across the street that a few other people are staying at.

Im always up for an overnight. I try to do them fairly often. But if you have any weekend rides, you want to do, please let us know. No doubt ill be there.

Heading down to the 1st round of AFX at Wakefield park.

Caution caution.
Be aware of diesel spills on the road between Murrurundi and Wingen. This is where i was highsided off my FJR 7 weeks ago on a flat straight stretch of road just near the Wingen pub after hitting a large diesel spill. Wrote the FJR OFF AND NEARLY GOT ME AS WELL.

Just got back. Awsome weekend.
950km. Had the best weather until this arvo. Got a massive down poor just before lithgow. And even some snow/ice on the bells just after Mt Vic.

Went up putty then golden Hwy to Tamworth. Very good accomodation at the Golden Grain Motel. A good feed at the local RSL as well.
Awsome weather this morning. Got to denman and decided on a different route for the ride home. Went the Bylong loop. Headed to Rylstone and lithgow and the bells home. Found one rider down along bylong rd. On a cruiser came down through the twisties. No gloves and normal jeans so he was a little sore, but was ok. Then just before lithgow, we had a massive down poor with masses of water running accross the road. made for interesting riding. Potato masher wouldnt have liked it. Then weather came good again, but found snow and ice at the top of bells.

Was a great ride. The bylong loop is an awsome ride.
I will post up as a ride soon.
Will be doing another tamworth weekend again next summer, so hope some of you guys can make that one.

if i wasnt away, i would have gone. we passed through denman maybe just before 12.
if we went the other way home, we may have seen you guys. hope you had a good ride.
