Just ordered a set of these Rizoma mirrors(the shiny ones) from a shop in the USA
And a set of these lights from Just Bandits in the UK.
Cant wait to see what they'll be like on the bike

Re: My Bandit Mods
So it begins...
I was only ever planing to change my lights and a few other small things and next thing I knew I was cutting up the frame with a grinder to make something "fit".
It is an illness and it has no cure. Welcome.

What the hell were you trying to "make fit" with a grinder?!!!Cruisecontrol wrote:So it begins...

I shouldn't be so surprised, I've done the same thing with a couple of cars.

Re: My Bandit Mods
Heres a pic of my bike with the new headlights. I love the look of them, just makes the bike look so much better.
Not sure what to do with the cowl above the lights, do I just leave it as is or remove it or make up some sort of filler panel to go between it and the lights? Without it you can see all the wiring going to the guages.
Still waiting for the mirrors to arrive.

They look good quality, as much as I can tell from a photo.

Haha, it was the tail piece I had made for it. Subframe was too long so off it came...
Only the other day I was fitting an R1 front guard. It didn't fit so I attacked the GSX-R forks I have on it with the grinder... And now it fits!
My suggestion would be to remove the cowl completely and get a nice set of digital instruments. It really tidies up the front as the stockers are needlessly big.
If not you could always get some thin black ABS plastic, cut it to the shape of your new lights, apply a bit of heat to get a nice bend and Araldite it to the inside of the cowl. That would fill the gap nicely.

Re: My Bandit Mods
Seeing as this is a thread about my Bandit mods, I'd better list the rest of them.
Ventura rack - bolts on to the grab handle mounts(means you lose the handle)
Crash knobs - no name from Hong Kong on ebay (dropped my bike on Sat and tried them out. Small scratch on the bottom of LH engine case but protected the radiator)
DIY Radiator guard - made from SS mesh $30
Sheepskin seatcover - Sheepy Hollow(also raised the seat)

Re: My Bandit Mods
I think you should pull the baffle out of the Yoshi first
Tp polish the headers, just use whatever brand of metal polish and rub it on with cheese-cloth till the pipes are cloudy. Then buff it off with a soft rag.
Be careful polishing the muffler though cause that stainless steel scratches really easily.

Re: My Bandit Mods
Yeah I tried it without the baffle first but I actually thought it was a bit loud Does that make me old? Also the popping on decel was a bit much. With the baffle it still has a nice deep note and still louder than the stock exhaust but the popping is not as bad(sounds ok actually). Am really happy with it.

Re: My Bandit Mods
Very nice colour car to
For the header pipes, if they are to bad for cheese cloth, i use metal polish and fine grade steel wool. works a treat.
