phillip island 8 hour race

Just got an email saying there is to be an 8 hour endurance race at Phillip island on 2nd to 4th December 2011 / they`re televising it on speed tv . http://www.phillipisland8hour.com.au/ this link may give you some more info . 3 riders per team , 25 teams / lemans start .tickets $45 for 3 days //$25 for Sunday only . Not enough notice for me but anyone closer may be interested .

Th eentry price is good value. If I had the opportunity, I'd go. But sadly, my employee needs me......

This should be a great event but its been very poorly promoted.
Ticket prices are already discounted by 50%
There has only been lip service paid by Suzuki and Honda with no hint of an entry list.
An under class has been withdrawn because only one entry was recieved.
IMR and Melbourne tabloid talk back radio station 3AW are named as major sponsors.

In my opinion the event is 2 weeks away with nothing of significance locked in and its looking shaky

I thought it a bit odd receiving notification now about this , when they sent me out all the info on wsb a couple of days after the gp finished

Entries closed on 28 Oct and this is the first most people hear about an event touted as being the equivalent of the Suzuka 8hr (their words)
Its sounding desperate I reckon. I hope it gets up though.

It would be a shame if it flopped from lack of promo. (just noticed an add for it in this months motorcycle trader )

My son Brad over Lukey heights at the 8 hour on his Triumph Daytona 675. He also won the 2011 Formula Xtreme Pro Thunder Red Baron Championship outright and the F3 class as well as being F3 champion and outright runner up in the FX Pro Thunder Championship.

Good result for the lad.
