Missing Allen Key?? Empty Missing Allen Key??

Post  Ewok1958 Wed 02 Nov 2011, 10:47 am

Had one of my mirrors knocked the other day in a carpark and it loosened the mirror at the stem mounting point. No problems - just get the allen key out of the toolkit and tighten it again while the engine warms up. D'oh! Two allen keys in the Suzuki toolkit and both too small for the mirror. Have I lost an allen key or did Suzuki not bother to out the larger one in the first place? Mine's a 1250S so would appreciate any other "S" owners having a look and letting me know. Thanks.

Hopefully this thread will alert other "s" owners that they need to buy the additional allen key.

I suppose every dollar counts but it does seem a bit stupid they don`t supply a couple of extra tools in the kit which are needed at times Rolling Eyes

Dont feel cheated i only have two in the kit on my FA. I have however ditched the tool kit from the bike and brought a new bespoke kit much better quality tools that do not feel as if they are about to break when i use them. All in a nice hard wearing soft case with a full zip so the tools open up and lie flat.

Suzuki did not deem it necessary to supply the required allen key. I think it's the same size as the fairing bolts and/or the front brake lever.

Maybe rather than complain about the missing allen key, maybe you should appreciate the effort Suzuki has gone to so as to minimize excess weight.

Missing Allen Key?? Empty missing allan key

I think needing a good piss while out riding would weigh more than an allan key / I would rather have the tools for an emergency : maybe we could do without the valve caps instead lol!
