$10,490 Ride Away Empty $10,490 Ride Away

Post  2wheelsagain Sun 23 Oct 2011, 9:06 am

While I left the darling and MIL to shop up a storm at the Queen Vic Market yesterday I did the honorable manly thing and went bike perving at the shops in the city. Mainly PS in their many flavors. I got wood over many "next bikes" especially ZX14, Z1000 Ninja, Busa & GSR750 (much better prepared than the example seen by Gus a couple of months ago) Tucked away around the corner was a black B1250SA L0 with at tag out $10,490 RA. By any measure that's a bloody good deal!

For what its worth the Z Sled was $16940 and the Bus a $17 and a bit. Exceptional value in both of them too. It was my first close look at the Z1000 Ninja and they look impressive with adjustable screen and all. Pillion comfort looks marginal but as a quick solo machine they should be up to it for around the $15k mark.

I had a sit on a white VFR800 which felt to narrow and tiny. A dissapointment actually but was tagged as $13,490 RA. Then i walked around the corner to the Triumph arm and looked at 2 T100 Bonneville's nice well built bikes with plenty of options available. Sat on the first one and I felt cramped with the peg/seat location. Bugger! Sorry Gus.

The black ZX would be my pick of the day.

lol!

I really liked the Bonneville until I sat on it Gus.

I guess I've had substantial bikes for so long the Bonny felt cramped.

Did I read correctly the new 1400 also weighed something close to 268 kilo? If that is correct that is a lot of bike to be trying to move with or without the HP isnt it?

Twice the HP of a bandit and only carrying an extra 15%.
Works for me and is about the same as an FJR or Big BMW

Go and ride one... I have ridden my mates blinged up Carbon fibre everything ZX14 and whilst it is an alright bike I'll have the Bandit back in a heart beat. They are painful to ride slowly in built up areas and get super hot as well whihc seems to be a typical Ninja "thing" from the ones I have ridden

That's a bargain price for the 1250SA! Like my women, I still prefer them naked though.
