I think this part is ugly
But looks better like this
Or this
Cable " BUTT UGLY "
I removed the outer cover ( dont get why its there ) Looks half as thick .Removed bracket and moved cable over .
Removed headlight cowl ,plastic . Fender extender ,plastic .Fork covers ,plastic
Snipped them like this so i can refit if touring without removing forks .

Hi Gus,
I am beginning to think that you were one of the kids that did not have a Meccano set when you were younger. I reckon if you had one of them then you would not have to take everything to bits now.
Cheers
Mark.

I get doing it for looks, but why remove the fork protectors? Surely they stop stone damage to the sliders above the oil seals?

Re: Todays parts removed
I asked Delk . out that ( see pics and video's ,below) (the fork things ) I think if you want protection you want it ALL covered ,like other things .
The only bike i've ever had a rock pit the forks was on a 1200 bandit .You guessed it ,it had those plastic protectors on .
That front brake line looks so much better without the cover ,

Re:Todays parts removed
gus,mate
this is a problem, you are going to run out of stuff to pull off your bike
you will finish up with 2 wheels,a motor and a bloody seat.slow down mate.
i know it`s a fairly heavy bike,but it should be a bike,not a friggin` rollerskate
i thought to modify was to add,not subtract.
guys, help me here.let`s have an intervention and help gus
we may have to take up a collection of parts so gus can remember what a bandit looks like
if he cant stop,we may have to get him a job as a postie lol
ps.gus don`t throw the old stuff away.you can sell it
but i won`t buy any cause it`s all black lol

I was just saying to the missus that Gus had found something else to remove. She said they'd soon be nothing left. I walked back to the computer and the next post I see is Gus working out if he can remove a link from the chain! True story.

Gus.
Today in surgery we were repairing a heart valve when the surgeon turned to me and asked in all seriousness when does a repair constitute a replacement. I facetiously replied that if you repair over 50% of the valve the majority is no longer original therefore must qualify as a replacement and billed accordingly. He seemed happy with this. Using this logic, if you keep on ripping stuff off the bandi, when does it no longer qualify as a bandit. I reckon you may have to change your rego soon.

Re: Todays parts removed
Gus' bike will soon be renamed from Bandit to Bandaid as he has managed to fix most of the shortfalls
I just ride mine these days, probably why it doesn's see soap or a hose for a few months at a time.

Re: Todays parts removed
Gus has inspired me, so I thought what could I remove from the big red Bandit to make it lighter.
This bit looks pretty heavy, so out it comes.
It looks a lot lighter and leaner now, I'll give it a run tomorrow and see.

Amazing how a little change can look so , just not right ,and close to , thats bad. Petrol on a rag fixed that look.
Shows though small changes make a differance , just got to make it better not worse .
