Anyone experienced Imported Bikes into OZ??

Anyone within group had experience importing bikes into OZ?

Some nice bikes out there and with the exchange rate as is, its tempting.

A restored collector or something like this would be nice: (pre '89 of course)

I know many people have thought about it and given up on the paper trail and customs BS that's required for a single import.

But I've had no personal experience, I believe there may be agents that can handle the BS for a fee, there certainly are for cars.

Did some research on net before posting and came to realise that the process can get complicated hence, the thirdparty import mobs out there. Will continue research.

Don't think that it is too much of a problem for a bike that old. You should be able to find out what you need to know on the Dept. of Infrastructure and Transport website.
