Re: Pic of Pops's bike
Thanks gents, quality of the rim polishing thanks to the advice I received from Gus.
Considering a belly pan to finish her off, any thoughts/advice on style or supplier appreciated.

Nice one Pops. Exactly the same model as mine except I have a Staintune can and rims are still black. What other mods have you done?

Re: Pic of Pops's bike
Not much in the way of upgrades, just tidied/detailed her since purchase back in Nov 2010 at 23000 k's.
Polished the rims, new carbon fibre look brake & clutch levers off ebay, new PR2's from Jake Wilson, (fitted by me) and full major service & tune by Neil Anderson.
Very impressed with bikes performance & riding position compared to my previous rides. Taking her up for track day at the end of Sept so should get to give me & the bandit a good workout.

Re: Pic of Pops's bike
Hi Gus
Worst part was breaking the bead, a mate had a large truck type bead breaker (long bar & sliding weight) & I used plenty of WD40 in the end on the rear tyre. The fitting was easy after that. I found a lot of tips on u tube & one tip which I considered was using the car to drive over the bike tyre to break the bead.
I will do it again myself but I will make up a decent bead breaker before hand that will be attached to the wall of my garage.
I recommend having a go yourself for the $ saving on the fitting & tyres & very happy with the Jake Wilson mob.

Re: Pic of Pops's bike
Great result PoPs. Which brand is it ? and did you paint it yourself or have it done professionally ? One small suggestion. Get yourself a headlight protector. I hear that a new headlight is around $800. Ouch.

Re: Pic of Pops's bike
Hi Hammy, brand is Simpson Detour (from the UK) for about $180.
I ended up having it painted professionally ($250) as I couldn't locate the paint even though I had the code. For reference the colour should anyone need it is 'Candy Sanoma Red' code (YHL). The spray painter had to mix the paint to match by trial & error & that took a couple of goes but very happy with the finished product.
What brand & from where for the headlight protector?

Mine is the AMHP model. Very neat. Easy to remove for cleaning. Any good bike shop should be able to help. Or check on-line.
