gear position sensor issue
Hi everyone my bike has resently been playing up, it is randomly showing incorrect gear positions on my digital display eg if I'm in 2nd it will display that i'm in 5th or when I'm in 4th it will display I'm in 2nd etc etc would I be correct in thinking that the GPS is stuffed or could it be something more sinister?

Very common. Crap in the switch and it is fixable with contact cleaner. I think there's a lot of running issues caused by this that only get picked up if you have a gear position indicator.
I have a detailed fix on my blog: http://kewwibike.blogspot.co.nz/2010/12/gear-position-indicator.html

Nice step by step instructions thanks kewwig - I'm probably getting close to having to clean mine as I'm getting the odd false reading.
