Hi guys,
Several months ago I purchased a Starider Camera Mount.

It arrived from Melb a couple of days later very well made and looks the goods.
But (there's always a "but isnt there?") it produces great shots of the speedo and tac and little else as the plane the camera mounts on is to low to suit a 1250 (assume 1200 too). It needs to be 20 - 30mm higher. I have emailed Starider asking for a mod.
So does anyone else use a tank mounted camera mount or any other camera mount?
Incidently the video camera is a Canon HF200

Have you got any footage from this yet?
How did the mod go?

Cheers,
Solerida.

No mod yet.
Had a reply from Starider saying they're not interested in producing a different one even though they have thought about it before!

I could cut it and weld a section in but I'm thinking of a different mount or different camera elcheapo VGA type with a high mounted lense would also work but finding one that shoots 25+ FPS is difficult.

This summers overtime will have a big say in what I do.

the quickest fix would be to pick up a ball head for a tripod - possibly with a quick release plate.
mount the ball head onto the starider mount, & the qr plate on the camera. depending upon the size of ball head you get, it should all be good.

i dont know what the setup is, but there are various bits and pieces you can get from camera shops - also in the bottom of the camera its just a metric threaded screw - you might be able to get a suitable length bolt and nuts, some sort of spacers etc from the hardware store and make it up. on youtube there is a video about a guy who made one from plastic plumbing pipes

Starider Camera Mount Empty camera mount - GO PRO

Hi everyone
My sons both bought the GOPRO wide cameras which includes a multitude of mounts including suction cup, stick on etc. This is a great camera with 170 degree fireld of view. Its been on the tank and tail of my bandit at over 200kmh at mallala with no problems. Its also been on side covers and swing arms of our dirt bikes in rough (Arkaroola) conditions at all speeds up to 150kmh. Lots of bang for the buck!!
