GSG Moto engine guards
I recently got the GSG Moto crash sliders for the GSF1250 with the factory lower fairing. The usual crash sliders don't fit with the lower fairings at all. Not cheap (got them through Twisted Throttle), but a nice piece of kit, with a removable end cap so you don't have to replace the slider for a minor fall. They are well made with a solid bar that passes across the engine. [img][/img]

Hopefully I'll not get to try them. The best protectors unfortunately would be my Givi V35s....

Here's the full pic on top of my local playground, the Rimutaka Hill Road. The GSX1250FA has a different fairing and although I can't be certain, I think the mount points will differ due to the fairing cutouts. Check out the GSG Moto page at:
GSG Moto
R and G Aeros are also available (check Ebay) for a hideous price, and there's a thread at:
https://nswbandits.forumotion.net/t914-rg-racing-crash-protectors-for-gsx1250fa
There's also Touratech ones: http://www.touratech.com/shops/001/product_info.php?products_id=7761
Oggy knobs may have something out too. I have seen references but can't find them on their site.

Nice bike, looks like you have an MRA Vario screen - how do you like that screen, I was thinking of trying one.

Cheers. The screen is a genuine Suzuki touring screen, which as far as I can tell is an MRA Vario with a Suzuki label. I also have the stock screen, but this MRA screen is fantastic in deflecting the wind over my helmet. I am 6' (184 cm) and it's perfect. The stocker was OK, but dumped air on my upper chest and helmet and was noisy. I really recommend it. That and the gel seat and I am happy for big distances.
I have a blog with a lot of detailed pics and discussion at http://kewwibike.blogspot.com
This bike had a lot spent on it by the first owner who worked for a Suzuki dealer (handy), and I have added to it, so it has:
1. Factory lower fairing
2. Oxford Sport Heated Grips
3. Paint protector film
4. Scottoiler
5. Hugger
6. Yoshimura TRS
7. Givi V46 top box with brake light kit, internal light and colour matched lid
8. Givi V35 side panniers with colour matched inserts
9. BMC air filter
10. Rad Guard radiator guard
11. GiPro TRE and gear position indicator
12. Stebel Nautilus air horn
13. Vario Touring screen
14. Fender Extender
15. SW Motech Mirror extenders
16. 12V accessory power socket (marine, stainless, waterproof)
17. Ventura light guard
18. BikeVis LED marker bullet lights
19. GSG-Moto frame sliders
20. Keiti tank protector
21. LED marker lights
22. Narva Platinum headlight bulbs
23. Indicator blanking plates
24. Dale Walker Stage 1 – TFI, Airbox mod, O2 sensor eliminator
25. Yoshimura reservoir covers
26. Suzuki gel seat
Best accessories are the luggage, gel seat, Stebel horn (if you haven't got one DO IT - 139 dB!!!!) and screen.

I was interested in the MRA vario screen but I don't want to drill holes in my original screen .. I guess I should just buy the MRA replacement and drill holes in that, I take it thats what you have

Re: GSG Moto engine guards
Sorry about the bad link. It is http://kewwibike.blogspot.com (fixed the link on the original post)
The screen I purchased new in its packet from the previous owner. The packet shows it as a genuine Suzuki part number 990D0-38G50-CLE, and the label "Vario Touring Screen, clear". It's the same screen as was fitted to the GSF1250SAT touring models sold new in NZ with the lower faring, Suzuki badged Givi V35s and a tank bag (in the UK they sold them as Bandit GTs with the addition of a top box and Sat nav).
This screen appears to be made in Germany and sold through Suzuki Europe, and is came fully assembled as in the photos. The screen is not a standard one with a lip; it is a slightly different shape with a sort of channel on each side. I'd hate to pay the genuine price through a dealer here. I haven't priced it, but to illustrate the point I was interested in a factory gel seat. 10 weeks delivery by sea freight - $1100NZD (yes, eleven hundred...). Needless to say EBay got me mine for $187USD and it was there in 10 days.
