First topic message reminder :

What does everone think about a TRIVIA thread

Stuff that maybe of no use to most people but really handy to the others. Maybe a good DVD ,something they have made,seen ,heard of ,
cooked ,been too .Minor things that do not really warrant a post of there own.(like most of my stuff ,there beat you to it )
Like taking a tractor tyre up north to float your Bandit across a river to a football selection ,the taste of beer ,who's state is
better at Rugby League. (may be not that) .Something that may make someone else say ,"why didnt i think of that".

Good idea or just post it on "off topic discussions " or not post it at all? (feeling vulnerable now )

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend but your voice does remind me a bit of John Clarke. I love his stuff, especially the old Fred Dagg guide to Operas, Real Estate and Exams.

Absolutely taken as a compliment Peter, I too love John Clarkes stuff, hence the reference to Farnarkling  .

It depends how close the fish is to the strike as the charge dissipates in water ....................salt water is also a better conductor  than fresh water  / if the fish is close enough to the strike ....hey presto smoked salmon  .......................actually the fish is more boiled than fried

I googled it .
Water being an excellent conductor causes the charge to go across the surface of the water .Very little penetrates the water, good news for fish .
BAD news if you are swimming . Zappo ,fried PAUL .
Lightning strikes hitting the ocean are unusual  (must stop short ? )

Yep, sure does power runs from Neg to Pos. Lightning therefore goes up from earth to sky. But then there's AC which goes both ways

That can be a really tough thing to realize and accept can't it !

A long long time ago, ( as Don Maclean once said ), believe it or not I did quite a bit of trials riding. Had a nice Honda TL250. Used to change the sprockets every week as I used to use it to blast around the orchard as well as weekend trials stints. Nothing like you see on tele these days. those guys are incredible. But it was a good sport and taught you a lot about bike handleing. We had some very tricky courses. Don't think I could ride along a log these days.

I always liked the idea of trials, a friend had a Sherpa 250 T and my brother a TY 175.

My first bike was a TY 250, which was a lot of fun, but my best mate got a PE175 so I got left behind too much. So I switched to a IT 250H, I had a lot of fun on that bike until family happened and I went to Mountain Bikes for about 20yrs until I got the Bandit.

The experience from riding dirt bikes has saved me a couple of times.  

When I logged on tonight a page came up that said is NSWbandits.forummotion a scam or legit?
From memory said something like is it a real site? I had to check to make sure I had not been a fake member of a fake site for the last few years.

Nobody/nothing is real on the internet, it's the devils work   and I like it!
