At least you replied  Laughing

The reason I ask is that growing up in the 70'-80's my brother and I had a lot of scooters that were "naked",  as faired bikes were thinner on the ground.

I was down at my brothers yesterday and we were looking at his retro Z900 and I got to thinking that the Bandit I just picked up would look nice naked  Cool

They look great naked until it rains or  gets cold . About $40 for parts to do it . Headlight and side holding brackets , no cutting and reversible .

A 7'' round from E-Bay $17 Two clamps $10
Hang on ,if its a first model its super easy . If its a later model its not so straight forward due to gauges .

I bought a pair of the cheesy supports of Ebay, quality is quite sub-par so I'm not sure if I'm gonna use them.
I did look at some of the 7" lamps on Ebay but I imagine the chrome, fit and finish would be crap(like the supports) and wouldn't last 2 rounds with a creampuff Rolling Eyes

I ended up paying a bit more and getting the lamp from the wrecker, the chrome is in excellent condition and it's a very solid unit. It's off a Yamaha SR400(allegedly), fit is good and it looks at home.

If I come across factory hardware I might change it out.........or not Smile

Thanks Paul Smile

To me it doesn't look over bulbous, yet still big enough to fit all the wiring inside Cool

You have nailed it ,well done . Yes the e-bay chrome is terrible , the side brackets rust in no time . In black ,last longer . Now to fit the wiring into the headlight shell .(it does fit ,just )
Bike feels way smaller and lighter ,doesn't it .
You might want to fit a $5 pair of heated hand grips . (e-Bay ) On -Off . Join to black ,brown, wire in headlight loom  (park light ,who ever uses that ? )

If you look up fair-weather rider in the dictionary there is a picture of me..........I don't get caught out too often by the rain Very Happy

That said, I'm taking the Gasgas dirter out tomorrow and I hope there is plenty of soft turf around Cool

Getting back to this naked Bandit, I'm not sure what indicators I'm going to run yet........any suggestions Gus? Should I make a bracket to hang them off, or should I rock it 70's style and bolt them to the headlights??? Cool

I made some ali spacers last night to replace the plastic ones in the headlight, in the coming weeks gonna get some MSC knock-off turn signals and a truckload of bits from Mick Hone. Gotta pull the swingarm also to sus out the grease/bushing story, gonna throw a new chain on whilst I'm there  Smile

Cut 2" off the rear guard today, dunno if I like it or not  Question But I definitely like it better than the factory one. Should I ever wanna change back I imagine I could pick one up without any drama.

As long as my arse points to the ground I can't see myself ever converting this bike back to faired, what is a fairing in good condition going for??

The screen is faded(I could possibly buff in back to clear) but the rest is unscathed.

Rough estimates?

Buggar all , headlight $50 the rest maybe $100 if your lucky . Unless you find that "one person " who needs that colour . Very Happy  . The last lot I bought I got for $25 .The only bidder . pale . Keep them ,selling the bike as a naked only cuts  the market by half.

Fitted some Renthals today, they feel much more comfortable than the orig bars.

Only drama was that I had to unbolt the front brake union. I'll make a bracket so I can mount it a smidge higher.
