Naked noise...

I have been noticing a rattle type noise from the front area lately .Only noticeable at very low speeds when you hit a small pot hole or kerb crossing.Sounded like two bits of plastic hitting .
When i tapped the back of the instrument pod it gave a loose not secure type sound .I took it off today and this is what i found.
First off ,some cables had been rubbing on them so re-routed those .Now with the front wheel off the ground the bars move freely from side
to side like they never have before. Cheese and chalk really





The back of the instruments are only held to the front by two self-tapping screws .Around the edge of the pod are some tiny pins to line it all
up together .The trouble is they are NOT a tight fit .I put a tiny dab of black silicone on the pins (about eight) before refitting the 2 main screws .
Much more secure sound when tapped and hopefully no more noise .In the pic i am pointing to the join of front and back which was loose .

Not the naked noise I was hoping for Gus / but I agree rattles are annoying & it`s good to find where they`re coming from .

The first pic shows why i had problems setting the stearing head tension .Cables were all jamed up .Nice and smooth now /

you wouldn`t believe it would make that much difference would you until you free it all up
