New boy
Just bought a 2007 bandit 1250 yesterday, ridden it 9km so far. Will get time to really look at it tomorrow, going to build and attach a sidecar to it over the next few months. Impressed by it so far

Re: New boy
Welcome Mike, the Bandit is a strong mule for a sidecar, there's a few already out there. Give her some time in the unbridled rig first to see what she's really like, you might not want to give up some of that fun, especially in the twisted.

I also have a DL650 at home, great bike for playing on the twisty roads. No where near as much grunt as the bandit

Re: New boy
There is a small riders "Owners Handbook" that can still be bought through the dealers, it's pretty cheap, but as far as I know it has never been digitised. Then there's a thick 1000 odd page "Service Manual" that's online in a dozen different places, just Google and you'll find a free download.

Welcome to the Forum Mike.
Barry is the man to talk to when you get around to putting a sidecar on.
If your not in a hurry for it, we are organising a Tassie ride early in December where you can meet Barry, I'm sure he wont mind showing and telling you all about his rig.

I live in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, I have seen a 1200 bandit with a sidecar recently. This will be my third bike with a chair, looking forward to starting on the project. Just home from half hour ride on my bandit, ooh yeh!

Re: New boy
Mine was done by Sean Kelly (SRK) out of Bathurst. He's done half a dozen Bandits, there was a blue 1250 running round here on the Forum, was bought and sold three times to different members, had the Griffin body with the larger 15" wheel, mines the Premier with the smaller 10". Check out the SRK site, he's got a heap of photos of all sorts of bikes and chairs.

Re: New boy
I got my last set at peter stevens ( used to work at Richmond ).......They sell OEM or aftermarket ones as well but I did buy a set of Yamaha rear ones that fitted and EBC fronts at Yamaha world once .............they once were part of motorcycle revolution which was a Suzuki dealer where I got the bike .You could try going into coast yamaha & seeing if their brakes catalog has a listing . Unfortunately there is no Suzuki dealer down our way . ( Supercheap used to have some bike parts once upon a time , you could give them a ring to see if they still do ) Or there is always Ebay .
There is also lots of useful info here .....................

Re: New boy
New semi synthetic oil plus a new filter, new brake pads front and rear. Only got to replace coolant, brake and clutch fluids and probably replace weepy fork seals, new rear tyre in the near future also, joys of buying a second hand bike. Got to be all ok before starting on sidecar build. Just ordered a Haynes workshop manual

Re: New boy
If the forks are just slightly weeping have you thought about trying the film trick around the current seal? Might just be a bit of crap stuck in them .
