New boy
First topic message reminder :
Just bought a 2007 bandit 1250 yesterday, ridden it 9km so far. Will get time to really look at it tomorrow, going to build and attach a sidecar to it over the next few months. Impressed by it so far

Re: New boy
Another option for fixing fork seals - just get rid of them altogether.....

Hello riders that live near me, I am sure one of you rode past me this morning (Sunday ) about 9.30am on a naked black bandit heading north on States rd near Pimpala rd , I was heading home in my red Discovery. I was happy to see another bandit!

Hi people
Owned my bandit for about 2 years now and love it. (gsf1250a. Abs) however just lost my rear brake altogether? Piston in the caliper is fine. Master cylinder is fine. But no fluid getting to the caliper at all. Any ideas guys????? Abs fault ???????

Hi Darky

Hi chook
Thanks for that I’m thinking the same. I am contemplating bypassing the abs on the rear altogether just get a new line made to run straight from the master cylinder to the caliper

Friday 20th coming up, time and meeting place, not sure how you can advise me discreetly. Looks like weather should be dry.

Have you tried to bleed the system with a vacuum bleeder?Darky wrote:Hi chook

I've never had any dramas with mine and my bike is 10 years old. I've done two brake bleeds in that time with new fluid.

Hi red dog
I took the bike to a race tech he confirmed the abs unit stuffed so he is going to disconnect the original lines and replace with braided line straight from the master cylinder to the caliper the front will still be abs

Chain time
I need to replace my chain, a few tight spots on it. The existing chain has a joiner link in it, I didn''t think they were used these days, my VStrom has a fully riveted chain.

Re: New boy
Your chain should have a rivet style joiner link. ..................The replacement chain you buy should be supplied with one . The last couple of chains I got were from Peter Stevens , they quite often have good prices on them .

Waiting
Film trick on forks, have done the deed now just need to go for a ride to see if it has resolved the issue. Between injured back, horrible cold, crap weather, work and family commitments a time will be available soon. Will keep everyone informed.
