If it costs that much i'll be shot .
Bike was $800
Bought ecu $150
Complete fairing set (still in Syd ) $200
Small bits $100
All ive got to do is get it to fire up when ecu arrives ,( may be end of week) and a few days
to sort things if I'm lucky .

What is it with Bandit owners gravitating to V Twins?
I hope you get her going Gus. I hope Jim still thinks mine sounds good when you do Laughing

I think the twins sound & feel more like our perception of a back to basics old style motorbike from days of old ( in our minds eye if you like )than the in line 4s; without any of the drama of the old British twins etc .

As bandit members get older they need something slower and louder, but can't bare to own a Harley Smile

A mate owned an early model bandit and then bought a tls1000. I rode both and the Bandit hands down was the better bike. The twin sounded great... The end

We have a running motorcycle . Took a bit of prompting after sitting idle for two years, and loosing its ecu and starter relay. But it gave in and settled to a nice idle ,with all the correct codes and working lights ect . Waiting for a front disc and we will have movement .

You are the resurrection King, Gus.
Bringing the dead to life.
Well done, mate.
You haven't been walking on water or hanging around in caves lately, have you?

In the boonies mate, you'd now connect it up to a pump and be pumping water from your dam to a water tank!  But seriously, well done, wish I could get my XS850 carbs sorted as fast as you got that beast running.

I have a 1999 v twin. I have a 2008 Bandit inline 4.  Sure the bandit is "nice" and comparativly new.... but it's a little... sterile?
(Flame suit on)
Early days with the bandit though so just my initial thoughts.

Engine wise my B1250 is stock.
Its got plenty of poke and is probably faster (just) than the Storm and would certainly get there quicker but its not as much fun.
It serves a purpose and is more than the sum of its parts but we won't be looking at the B1250 when they're 25yrs old and saying I should have kept one. I don't think thats the intent of a UJM.

I could spend $3000 on "fixing" the Bandit. I have no intention of buying it some character. It is what it is.

Each to their own though.

Nice work on getting the TLR going Gus.

Absolutely bog stock standard. That will change bit by bit over time.  Its got grunt to burn, and I feel there are more horses in there somewhere, but its just so smooth. Been quite a time since I had a IL4. Last one was a ninja ZX10. The '88 model.
No it will be just a matter of getting used to it and making it more "mine" and less "factory".
I will grow to love it. cheers

Bike starts like a bike should ,goes through the gears (on paddock stand ) fine, so major work is done . The hardest part is getting a box of
fairing parts from Sydney to Brisbane .99% of couriers will not do domestic freight , one said they don't deal in cash ( wtf ) ,post says too big ( Mad )
another wants $180 ( silent  nearly the price of parts ). Still trying .
Waiting for ,rear master cylinder ($16) Front disc $10.
Bleeding front brakes today and more cleaning .
Don't own a very strong pigeon do you ? scratch

Had an RZ delivered by a truckie a while ago.
I'm trying to track down his number for you.
I'm sure he'd haul your fairings pretty cheaply.

Howdy Gus,

Are you still looking to get some fairings from Sydney.

I have a mate down there who is travelling to Hervey Bay next week (he thinks!)

I have sent you a PM with my contact details
