What is the function of this cover?  Would the fan draw more air with this removed?

if the only commuting we did was on the hi-way, you probably wouldn`t need it.

But in reality, we also ride in cities, where theres no wind flow, so you need a shroud to act as a duct, and to channel the air from the fan, to flow through the cooler.

I removed mine and noticed absolutely no difference  , apart from one less rattle noise .

1. Would only make a difference if the fan were running.

2. Fan seldom runs.

3. Therefore, if your fan seldom runs (i.e. you don't commute inn stop-start traffic), it won't be an issue.

Just my logic.
